Football Accumulator Tips: Thursday’s 6/1 Treble featuring Ten Hag’s United

Nantes vs Juventus – Juventus 

The first game of our Thursday treble sees Serie A side Juventus travel to the west of France to play Nantes. The first leg in Turin ended in a 1-1 draw after Dusan Vlahovic’s early opener and Massimiliano Allegri will be looking for a much better performance this time round.

They currently sit 7th in the league and face the real possibility of missing out on Europe this year, making this competition even more important to them. They come into this game off the back of three wins on the bounce and will come thinking they can progress. 

However, Nantes stand in their way. The French side will be happy to have come away with the draw in the last leg after scoring their one and only shot on target and will see this as a real chance to progress in front of their home fans.

They have had a poor season so far and have been looking behind them rather than in front of them throughout. Although they are at home, we do feel as if Juventus have the much better squad and they will come good when needed. A Juventus win and progression for this one. 

Roma vs RB Salzburg – Roma 

The second leg of our Thursday treble has Roma hosting RB Salzburg. The first leg saw the Austrian side win in the 88th minute and Jose Mourinho is sure to have made clear just how important this competition is to his players. 

The Serie A side are currently 3rd in the league and have one hand on Champions League football next year, but Mourinho is sure to see this as another real opportunity for silverware after winning the Conference League last year.

Salzburg are running away with the Austrian Bundesliga again and after their display vs Roma last week, they will be coming with the intention of qualifying. However, unfortunately for them, Mourinho is a master in these situations and we can see him setting his Roma side up in just the right way. Infront of a packed out Stadio Olimpico and with Mourinho in charge, we think Roma win this one and come back from behind to qualify for the round of 16.

Man Utd vs Barcelona – Man Utd 

The final game of our Thursday treble sees two highflying teams come head to head once again. Erik Ten Hag’s men have come back from a terrible start to the season to become genuine title contenders, whilst Xavi’s Barcelona look set for yet another La Liga title. 

The first leg between these two finished 2-2 at the Camp Nou in an exciting end to end game and fans will be hoping for more of the same. Both sides come into this game in good form so it could go either way.

However, we do think United really benefited from the draw at the Camp Nou and will come into this the more confident. They will be playing in front of a home crowd for qualification and we think that is the difference between these two sides. A Man United win for this final game.
