West Ham vs Southampton – West Ham + Over 2.5 Goals

West Ham find themselves in the relegation zone going into the weekend, facing bottom of the table Southampton at home.

The Hammers have won just one of their last six, but are unbeaten in their last four on home soil. They swept past Everton and Nottingham Forest, before holding Chelsea and Aston Villa to draws at the London Stadium. Against another side near the bottom of the table, they seek a victory to help their chances of survival.

As for the Saints, this will be Ruben Selles’ seventh game in charge, having picked up eight points from his first six games. Wins against Chelsea and at home to Leicester, followed by an impressive point against Tottenham after coming from two goals behind, highlights the good work they have done to gain points. Previous manager Nathan Jones picked up just three points in his eight Premier League games in charge, so Selles has certainly made an impact.

However, they will need to work hard against a West Ham side who are good in front of their home fans, and we think it will be the Hammers who get the win in the first leg of our Super Sunday Treble.

Newcastle vs Manchester United – Newcastle or draw

Newcastle host Manchester United in the big game on Sunday, with both teams playing well this season and looking to achieve their aims.

Entering February, Newcastle were sitting third, above Manchester United on goal difference and were on their way to Wembley for the League Cup Final, their first major final since 1999. However, two disappointing draws followed by three back to back defeats, including the League Cup final defeat to their opponents on Sunday, had thrown their season off track. Back to back wins against Wolves and Nottingham Forest however have lifted their spirits, and with Aleksandar Isak in red hot form, they look revitalised going into January.

There is a similar theme for Manchester United, who are currently three points ahead of Newcastle at the top end of the table. Their season looked to go from strength to strength before a complete meltdown at Anfield, where they lost 7-0 to their historic rivals Liverpool. Whilst they easily got past Real Betis in the Europa League, their 0-0 draw to Southampton and unconvincing performance against nine man Fulham, coupled with off the pitch talk regarding the ownership of the club, has led to uncertainty about the clubs direction. They are still favourites to make the top four, but with Casemiro suspended, they might struggle to get the win at St James Park.

Both teams are missing key personnel, but Newcastle are solid at home, whereas Manchester United have struggled away against the big teams, losing at the Etihad, The Emirates and Anfield. With that in mind, we think they’ll continue to struggle here, so Newcastle or draw is the selection we’re going for.

Napoli vs AC Milan – Over 2.5 Goals

The final leg of our Super Sunday treble sees the dress rehearsal for the all Italian Champions League quarter-final between Napoli and AC Milan.

Napoli have lost just twice this season as they look on their way to the Serie A title, as they sit a mighty 19 points ahead of second placed Lazio, and 23 points ahead of their opponents on Sunday evening. Whilst the league title is more a question of when, not if, they are also well within the running for the Champions League, having been given an easy draw on their way to the final, avoiding all the big favourites in the quarter-finals and semi-finals.

AC Milan, last season’s Serie A champions, have struggled at times this season and find themselves in a battle for next season’s Champions League spots, rather then the prize they claimed last May. Roma are hot on their heels and are just a point behind, as well as Juventus who have been on fire since they were deducted 15 points back in January.

With both teams wanting to take the game to their oppositions ahead of their Champions League double header, we think it’ll be an exciting encounter in Naples on Sunday night and we think there will be over 2.5 goals in the game.
