Empoli vs Lecce – Under 2.5 Goals

The first leg of our Monday treble sees two out of form teams in Empoli and Lecce face off here.

Both sides have been on four game losing streaks, but at least one of those teams will be able to bring that to an end. With Empoli a point above the visitors and infront of their home fans, you would think that would make them favourites.  Despite this, they are without a win in eight games going back to their 1-0 win away at the San Siro to Inter Milan back in January.

Lecce have also been poor, with no goals in their last four games, despite winning at Atalanta before their losing run began.

With both teams looking rather toothless as of late, we think it’ll be a cagey affair, and if their 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture earlier on in the campaign is anything to go by, we think there will be under 2.5 goals in this one.

Sassuolo vs Torino – Over 2.5 Goals

Staying in Italy, the second game of our Monday treble sees a in-form Sassuolo welcome Torino in Serie A.

Sassuolo are one of the most inform teams in the division, with four wins in their last four. They are still in the bottom half of the table, but could go up to 9th with a win at home, something they have become used to recently.

Torino will be looking for revenge after their 1-0 home defeat in the reverse fixture between these two, but they come into this one off the back of a 4-0 defeat at home to runaway leaders Napoli, and whilst they did win last time on their travels at Lecce, it might be a tough ask coming to a confident Sassuolo.

It will be an interesting one as both sides are no strangers to finding the back of the net, so we think the over 2.5 goals mark will be one we will back for this match.

Everton vs Tottenham – Under 2.5 Goals

The final game of this Monday treble is the Premier League match between Everton and Tottenham.

Everton have been solid at home under Sean Dyche in defense, with nine points from a possible 12 at home, but are still just a point above the danger zone, and will not want a repeat of last season, where they narrowly avoided the drop. They have three clean sheets at home, and will look to keep this going against Tottenham.

Following a disastrous end to the game at Southampton, which triggered a furious press conference from Antonio Conte, the Italian was relived of his duties at the helm, with Cristian Stellini taking charge as the interim manager for this one until the end of the season at least (best price of 12/1 to manager at the start of next season).

Interestingly, when he was in charge of the team following Conte requiring surgery and recovery, he won against Manchester City, West Ham and Chelsea, keeping clean sheets in all three of those victories.

With that in mind, we think it might be a cagey affair at Goodison Park, with both teams fighting for points but also not wanting to lose. Everton’s low scoring games at home, where all of the last four have had no more than two goals, makes the under 2.5 goals a good indication of the fixture, which is why we’re backing under 2.5 goals in the match.
