Football Accumulator Tips: Two relegation battles in Tuesday's 5/1 Treble

Wolves vs Crystal Palace – BTTS 

Wolves and Palace are two sides who have been competing around the relegation zone for most of the season but have pulled away from the bottom of the pack in recent weeks. The arrival of new managers in both dugouts has seemed to rejuvenate their players and they have breathed some extra life into them at a crucial time in the season. 

Although they’re both not out of the woods yet, both teams have a comfortable cushion on those in the drop zone and will be looking to extend that so they wont have to be looking over their shoulder for the remainder of the season. 

This fixture is huge for both teams as it could really help decide their fate for this season. A Palace win would see them reach the magical 40 point mark and all but see them safe, while a Wolves win would keep Palace in the mix and send them level on points with their opponents. 

This one will be a tough call. However, Wolves have scored in seven games on the bounce with Palace scoring in four of their last five. For this reason we think both teams to score is the play for this one.

Plymouth vs Bristol Rovers – Plymouth 

The second game in our Tuesday treble should be the easiest one to pick. The league leaders host 15th-placed Bristol Rovers in a game that could prove costly to the title race. Plymouth remain only one point ahead of Ipswich with three games to go and with Ipswich playing on the same night vs 4th placed Barnsley, the Pilgrims need to win this one to maintain their lead. 

The visitors in this one haven’t got much to play for and haven’t won in their last three, so we can’t see them causing too many problems for the leaders. A Plymouth win here. 

Leeds vs Leicester – Leeds 

The final game of our Tuesday treble is a relegation battle between Leeds and Leicester. Although both teams currently sit outside the relegation zone, Leicester are above Everton only on goal difference and Leeds by a single point. Its fair to say this one is a six-pointer for both teams and whoever wins this will feel they can escape the drop. 

Both teams come into this in terrible form, with Leeds being battered in back-to-back games against Liverpool and Crystal Palace, and Leicester losing three of their last five. 

Although Leeds haven’t been particularly good in recent weeks, Leicester have the third-worst away record in the league in the last six games and we can see this continuing when they visit a packed-out Elland Road. 

The Leeds faithful are known to get behind their side and make a hostile environment for visitors. With so much on the line, we think this with Leicester’s poor away form added makes a home win the most likely outcome.
