Chelsea vs Brentford – Brentford double chance

A midtable West London derby kicks off our Wednesday treble with Chelsea five points behind Brentford in 10th, having played a game less.

Chelsea have been a matter of large debate, over their results, managerial appointments and amount of investment. The chaos in Todd Boehly’s first year in charge of the club isn’t over yet, with the club still looking for a permanent replacement for Graham Potter.

They are closer to the relegation zone than the top four going into May, which is a sight Chelsea fans haven’t seen for many years. Frank Lampard has lost all four games in charge of the club in a caretaker capacity, and it looks like it very well could continue.

As for Brentford, a solid season for the most part has faded of late, with them currently on a six game winless run, only Southampton and Nottingham Forest have gone longer without a win. Thomas Frank has all but guided them to a top half finish, an improvement on last year’s 13th place finish, but they will want to turn their poor form around.

Both teams look on the beach in this one, but Chelsea have been diabolical under Lampard, and with recent injuries to Reece James and Mason Mount, they may continue to struggle. We think Brentford have a better chance of winning, but we think that Brentford to win or draw is the play with both teams out of form.

West Ham vs Liverpool – Over 3.5 Goals

Liverpool are quite a way off the top four spots and West Ham’s recent form has all but dragged them away from relegation. Both teams will want points on the board to give them every chance of achieving their goals.

The Hammers have lost just one of their last nine league games at home and have been solid at home, which has played a big factor in their position in the table. A point against Arsenal from 2-0 behind and a big 4-0 win at Bournemouth, after securing their place in the European Conference League Semi-final, has shown they are keen to end the season in a confident manner.

The Reds bounced back from a bad end to March and poor start to April with back to back wins, including coming back from 2-0 to draw against.

Last season, West Ham clinched this fixture 3-2, and goals are on the cards once again. Both teams haven’t been defensively stable all season but have been scoring in abundance in their respective last three fixtures - 10 for West Ham and 11 for Liverpool -  and the potential for goals is certainly there.

Man City vs Arsenal – Manchester City win and Both Teams to Score

Dubbed the title decider, Arsenal travel to face Manchester City for a title showdown. Manchester City have had their fair share of memorable league games at the Etihad since Sergio Aguero dramatically delivered their first Premier League title back in 2012 with a last gasp winner vs QPR, whereas Arsenal have struggled at the Etihad over the last few years.

The Gunners looked to be running away with it, but three draws in their last three has meant the power has shifted back to Manchester. Having been 2-0 up at Liverpool and West Ham, they failed to secure crucial wins, but showed fight to salvage a point against Southampton after going 3-1 down.

As for City, they have been relentless, winning all but one of their league games since their last defeat to Tottenham in February. Their hunt for a treble goes on, and a win here will go a long way to achieving that. It would close the gap to two points with two games in hand on the Gunners. They also have won the last six fixtures against their opponents, and look set to make it seven.

We think they’ll do that, and like the reverse fixture, we think both teams will score with Manchester City winning.
