Southampton vs Bournemouth – Bournemouth 

The Saints are all but down this season and a loss against fellow south coast relegation rivals Bournemouth will almost seal their fate.

After Leicester’s draw up at Leeds on Tuesday night, they remain at least five points adrift of safety and with those around them picking up the odd point here or there, they run the real risk of being left behind. 

Bournemouth are one such team who have been picking up points in recent weeks. Gary O’Neil’s side have won three of their last five fixtures and have managed to put a bit of distance between themselves and the drop zone. A win here would send them only four points off the magic 40 point mark and they will feel as if they have done enough for survival this year. 

Although both teams are struggling down the bottom end of the table, Southampton come into this one in far worse form. They have the worst home record in the league over the last 10 games, picking up only four points. Bournemouth on the other hand, have been in good away form. They have won three of their last five on the road, and we expect them to do the same again here.

Everton vs Newcastle – Newcastle 

Newcastle travel to Merseyside to face struggling Everton. The Toffees had a slight resurgence under new manager Sean Dyche, but with only one win in their last nine, they remain in serious danger of relegation in 18th. 

Newcastle on the other hand have been the surprise of the season. They sit 3rd in the league and look like they are set to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 20 years. 

They hit a little road bump when they travelled to Aston Villa last week, but answered by demolishing European rivals Tottenham 6-1 at St James’ Park a week later to make it four wins in their last five. 

Although Everton at away is a tough task for anyone, they have the best defensive record in the league, whilst Everton have the worst attacking record. We can’t see Everton causing too much of a problem for them, so a Newcastle win for this one.

Tottenham vs Man Utd – Double Chance Man Utd/Draw

The final game of our treble sees Man Utd travel to north London to face Tottenham. After their battering at the hands of Newcastle on Sunday, Spurs parted ways with Christian Stellini and have appointed Ryan Mason as interim head coach once again.  

Spurs look a little rudderless in the closing stages of the season and they run the real risk of dropping out of the European places this year, with Villa, Brighton and Liverpool all snapping at their heels. 

United are the complete opposite. Although they crashed out of the Europa League, they have already won the League Cup, have the FA Cup final to play and are set to qualify for the Champions League once again. Under ten Hag they look like they are starting to get back to their old ways. 

Nonetheless, although they were beaten heavily in their last game, Spurs have had the third best home form in the league, winning four of their last five. United meanwhile have won only two of their last five on the road.

With this in mind and the fact that Spurs’ have come off the back off a demolition, we think the smart play here is a Man Utd win/Draw double chance.
