Football Accumulator Tips: Brighton upset Man United in Thursday’s 8/1 Treble

The first game of our treble sees Premier League bound Sheffield United travel down the road to face Huddersfield Town. The Blades have been in excellent form of late, and with four wins on the bounce they have secured their place in the Premier League next season. 

Their hosts on the other hand still run the risk of relegation. Reading have the chance to claw Huddersfield back into the mix should they win their final game by two or more. However, should Huddersfield win or draw vs Sheffield United they will solidify their safety for one more year. 

Although Huddersfield have lost only one home game in their last five and have gone unbeaten in four, they still have one of the league most in-form teams to face, no easy task. The Blades have won three of their last four on the road, so we can see that trend continuing here. A Sheffield United win for this one. 

Udinese vs Napoli – Napoli 

The league leaders Napoli travel to Udinese to try and clinch their first title in 33 years. They could have won it at the weekend, but a draw with Salernitana at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium meant celebrations were placed on hold. 

Now a Udinese side stand in their way. They currently sit 13th in the table, with nothing left to play for so we think Napoli should be pretty confident coming into this. Although their form has dropped off in recent weeks, we back Spalletti’s men to finally clinch the title on Thursday evening.

Brighton vs Man Utd – Brighton

The final game of our treble sees the repeat of the FA Cup semi-final. That game went to extra time after a 0-0 draw, with Man Utd eventually going on the reach the final on penalties. 

Both sides are approaching the business end of the season in good positions. United are within the top four and look set to qualify for the Champions League, while Brighton have three games in hand on those above them in the chase for Europe. A win here would send them 6th with two game in hand on Spurs and Villa below them and we think they’ll do just that.

United have been inconsistent away from home this season. They have won only four of their last 10 on the road, notably being hammered 7-0 by Liverpool only last month. Meanwhile, Brighton have won six of their last 10 home games, keeping five clean sheets. Brighton have seemed to make their stadium a real fortress so we can see United struggling here.
