Football Accumulator Tips: Thursday's 5/1 Treble backs West Ham first leg win

Juventus vs Sevilla – Juventus 

The first game of our Thursday treble features Italian side Juventus and Spanish side Sevilla. This competition has been dominated by Sevilla in recent years and it could be once again this time round. 

They travel to a Juventus side who have had their points deduction reversed and now sit 2nd in the Serie A after a troubling start to the season. They come into this one in fairly good form, winning two on the bounce and will look to take a lead to Seville in the second leg of this one. 

Their visitors haven’t had the best season in the league this year, and winning this competition may be their only hope of playing in Europe once again next season. They sit 11th in La Liga but have won four of their last five games to close the gap between themselves and Girona in 7th to only three points. However, they have been conceding a lot this season and have a minus eight goal difference, so they have an uphill battle to break into the top seven. 

However, for this one we think Juventus will get the win. They have won five of their last six matches at home and have turned the Allianz Stadium into a real fortress. 

Roma vs Bayer Leverkusen – Roma 

The second game of our treble has last year’s Europa Conference League winners Roma host Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen side. The hosts are currently sitting outside of the European places in Serie A so will apprehensive about missing out on Europe next year, with Leverkusen set to qualify once again. 

Roma are in poor form coming into this, with only one win in their last five, but Jose Mourinho is sure to set his team up to gain the edge on their German counterparts. 

Leverkusen have clawed their way up the table after a poor start to the season and unlike Roma, they come into this in decent form, after going unbeaten in their last four. However, Roma have been in great form at home in Europe this year, winning five of their six games. With this in mind and the knowledge that Mourinho is a master in these stages of competitions, we think Roma will nick the win. 

West Ham vs PSV Alkmaar – West Ham 

The last game of Thursday’s treble is West Ham vs PSV Alkmaar in the UEFA Conference League. The Hammers have no chance of qualifying for Europe next year from their league position and do in fact they still run the risk of relegation, but as it’s quite a slim chance they will be looking towards this competition with real optimism. 

They have managed to claw their way back from a dire position earlier in the season and now sit seven point clear of the drop, and one more win would confirm their Premier League status for another year. 

Their visitors are also set to miss out on Europe as it currently stands. They sit fourth in the Eredivisie, only two points off Ajax. They put on an excellent display to overcome Anderlecht in the quarter-finals so will come into this one thinking they can get a result. 

However, West Ham are a different kettle of fish to their Belgian opponents. The Premier League side breezed past Gent in the last round and look like one of the favorites to win the whole thing outright. With the Hammers eyes set on Europe, we think they win this one fairly easily.
