Coventry vs Middlesbrough – Both Teams to Score

The first leg of this Championship play-off semi final between Coventry and Middlesbrough is the first game in our Super Sunday Treble.

The teams faced on the final day of the regular season, with it finishing 1-1. Had Middlesbrough won the game, they would be playing Sunderland instead, but they couldn’t find that elusive winner against the Sky Blues. It was the first draw between the two sides in their last six meetings.

This game could be an interesting clash to see who progresses to the Play-Off final in a few weeks time. Coventry will want to get a win, as they did earlier in the regular season, to give them an advantage to cling on to at the Riverside Stadium. 

They entertain a Middlesbrough side who have conceded the third most goals away from home (37) and Victor Gyokeres and his 21 goals will be able to take advantage of a leaky Boro defence.

The visitors have the joint most goals away from home this season (38) and will be tough to hold out against, being only second to Burnley in terms of goals scored. 

With this in mind, we think both teams have the firepower to get on the scoresheet in what will be a high nerves and high intensity game to be in good shape for the second leg, so both teams to score is our selection.

Everton vs Manchester City – Manchester City win + Over 2.5 Goals

Jubilant after their huge win at Brighton, Everton face Manchester City who are on a 10 game winning streak in the Premier League.

Their first win in eight league games lifted them out of the bottom three, and if they could get another win against the odds, it would be a big ask of the teams below them in Leicester and Leeds to get above the Toffees in the table.

Whilst it was a huge win for them, and a major shock for the teams around them, we doubt they will be able to catch Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side cold like Brighton were. The Cityzens are unbeaten in six on the road and have won 10 league games in a row as they close in on their third Premier League title in a row. 

They have experience in these tough crowds such as what Goodison can be in these crunch matches. Manchester City have not lost to Everton since the 4-0 defeat suffered in Guardiola’s first season at Goodison Park, and have won every game there since, which is why we think they do so again.

Manchester City have had over 2.5 goals in their last seven league games, and Everton come into this one having an average of five goals scored in their last three Premier League games, conceding seven and scoring eight, which each had over 2.5 goals.

Manchester City to win and there to be over 2.5 goals in the match is our selection for this one.

Arsenal vs Brighton – Over 3.5 Goals

Our final game of the treble see’s Arsenal host bruised Brighton.

Arsenal won the reverse fixture between the two sides 4-2 at the Amex and have won their last two games, with a huge win at Newcastle, after some shaky results in recent fixtures. A win would keep their ambitions of a first Premier League title for 19 years alive, with it currently in Manchester City’s hands, but the Gunners are ready to pounce on any slip up should it come.

As for Brighton, what has been a fantastic season for them saw the shock of the season, with Everton travelling down to the South Coast to beat the Seagulls 5-1 on their own patch; a result no one saw coming. They’ll be hoping to bounce back from that disappointment against Arsenal at a ground that has been rather kind to them in recent visits, winning three of the last four trips in all competitions.

Each team has averaged at least two goals scored a game in their last six matches, so we’re going to back a high scoring game at the Emirates. Arsenal and Brighton have been high scorers in the league, both in the top five for goals scored this season with 83 and 63 goals scored respectively, and we think, just like the reverse fixture, that there is a chance over 3.5 goals are scored in their clash on Sunday.
