Football Accumulator Tips: Man City win anchors 5/1 Wednesday Treble

Fatih Karagumruk vs Adana Demirspor – Over 2.5 Goals

Our first match of our Wednesday treble sees us travel to Turkey to watch Andrea Pirlo’s Fatih Karagumruk side host Adana Demirspor.

Karagumruk suffered a bad defeat in their last home game against Antalyaspor, but bounced back to win 3-0 at Gaziantep. Both Fabio Borini and Mbaye Diagne, who may be familiar to fans of the Premier League after their times with Sunderland and West Brom respectively, have been banging in the goals, combining for 37 of Karagumruk’s 60 goals in the league this season. They’ve scored 14 goals in their last six games and have featured in many high scoring games in the campaign.

As for the visitors, they are currently on a five game winning streak at the moment as they make a late surge up the table, sitting just eight points behind Fenerbahce who are in 3rd. In their last five games, 
Demirspor have scored 19 goals, just under four goals a game, and will look to continue their good scoring form away to Karagumruk.

With both teams in a rich vein of form infront of goal, we think there will goals in this one, so over 2.5 goals is the play here.

Middlesbrough vs Coventry – Middlesbrough win (in 90 minutes)

In their Championship play-off second leg, Coventry travel to Middlesbrough, with both teams looking for a famous victory to send them to the play-off final for a chance to be a part of the Premier League next season.

These sides played out a 0-0 draw, but on the balance of play, Middlesbrough are unlucky not to have an advantage going into this one. Some Chuba Akpom chances going awry and an offside goal means it remains level in the second leg, but with Boro the favourites to gain promotion, they’ll be playing in front of a expectant Riverside crowd who will no doubt get behind them.

As for Coventry, they’ll be relieved they come into this one goalless, but know they’ll need to test the Boro back line. Their 1-1 draw on the final day of the regular season is not a true indicator of how the contest will go, with Boro conserving their energy for the pending play-off matches having sealed their place with games to spare.

With that in mind, we think Boro will reach the play-off final in 90 minutes with a win in a very tight match.

Manchester City vs Real Madrid – Manchester City + Over 2.5 goals (in 90 minutes)

The final game of our treble sees Real Madrid travel to Manchester City with a spot in the Champions League final up for grabs.

A tight 1-1 draw with moments of brilliance from Vinicius Junior and Kevin de Bruyne was the story of the first leg, and Manchester City will be infront of their home fans to take them over the line and into their second Champions League final in three years. 

They have scored 20 goals in the five Champions League games they’ve played at home, giving an indication that they are out to Real Madrid and will have the confidence to do so.

City won a big game at Everton at the weekend, and watched Arsenal lose afterwards, meaning they could be crowned Premier League champions before they play their next league game. But all the focus is on this one as they have a fantastic opportunity to win their first ever Champions League trophy.

Real Madrid are experts at this competition, and you only have to look at last year’s semi final to understand why. Two very late goals was enough to take it to extra time, before Karim Benzema sent them through to the Champions League final, where they went on to beat Liverpool.

Real Madrid have been far from brilliant domestically, seeing their rivals Barcelona win the title with four games remaining. Winning here would give them a chance to win a record 15th European title.

However, with their brilliant home form both in Europe and domestically, we think Manchester City prevail with over 2.5 goals in the game before 90 minutes to book their trip to Istanbul in June.
