Havana Grey colt NOVATION showed more than enough on debut to make him of strong interest here. He was well backed that day but a slow start ultimately cost him any chance. I thought you could see the penny starting to drop late but he was hampered as he started gathering momentum and he struck me as a horse that will know plenty more next time. The winner has since gone close in the Lily Agnes looking unlucky having come from way back so the form stacks up too. If he can get away on terms here I think he is definitely the one to beat. Exceed and Excel colt Palmar Bay was beaten 5 lengths on debut at Windsor but should come on for the experience and looks the biggest danger in here. Jasour is also by Havana Grey and looks the most interesting of the two debutants.

I have been waiting to see BRASIL POWER again as he was due to run at Lingfield last week but was pulled out. This son of Dark Angel was with this yard as a 2yo before going over to Ireland with Joseph O’Brien. He failed to make an impact and eventually made his way back to this stable over the winter. He was heavily backed at Wolverhampton at the start of the month and made no mistake staying on strongly to win with a bit up his sleeve. He is up 3lb from that but Connor Planas claims a handy 5lb off his back again and he looks to have developed a good partnership with him. Stockpyle continues to run to a consistent level but as a result is staying high enough in the handicap. He could still be the danger in first-time cheekpieces. Priscilla’s Wish is also in form and has to be feared too.
