Partizani vs BATE Borisov – Both Teams to Score

The first game of our Tuesday treble sees Belarusian outfit BATE Borisov travel to FK Partizani Tirana in Albania.

BATE Borisov have not reached the group stage of the Champions League since 2015/16, and their last participation in this competition was in the 2019/20 season, where they reached the Second qualifying Round before bowing out. BATE currently sit fourth in the Belarusian league table, 10 points behind leaders Neman Grodno after 14 games played.

As for the hosts, they have never reached the group stage in the competitions history, and their last run in the Champions League ended in the First qualifying round in 2019. Partizani won the Albanian top flight, which earned them their place in the first qualification round in the Champions League.

BATE are the 107th highest coefficient ranked club, whereas Partizani are placed in 260th, highlighting this is going to go one way. However, with the first leg being played in Albania, we think Partizani will want to hope they can get goals to take to Belarus next week, so we think both teams will get on the scoresheet in this one.

Klaksvik vs Ferencvaros – Ferencvaros to win

The second game in our Tuesday treble takes us to the Faroe Islands where Klaksvik host Ferencvaros from Hungary.

The hosts reached the second qualifying round in 2020/21 and did feature in this stage last season, but failed to progress any further, and went into the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds, where they fell short at the third round. They won their 20th Faroe Islands Premier League title which has got them into this qualifying round.

Ferencvaros have had much more success in the Champions League in the last few years. They went as far as the group stage in 2020/21, where they welcomed the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo of Barcelona and Juventus respectively to Budapest. They will dream of another run to the group stage, but they must get past the Faroese champions for now.

Given the gulf in quality between Klaksvik, who are the 169th ranked side in UEFA’s coefficient rankings, and the 62nd ranked visitors, we think it only goes one way in this one, and that’s Ferencvaros’ way. They should win this game and comfortably march on to the next round.

KF Ballkani vs Ludogorets – Ludogorets to win

Another total mismatch, arguably the biggest of the lot, sees Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets travel to face KF Ballkani.

The Kosovan champions did reach the Europa Conference League group stage last season, picking up four points and dropping out of the competition in last place. This is still a mighty achievement for Ballkani in their first season in European football.

Ludogorets, however, should be winning this one with relative ease. They face the 334th ranked side in UEFA’s coefficient rankings, a big disparity from their 78th place ranking (two spots above European Conference league runners-up Fiorentina).

The Bulgarian side might be familiar to fans of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, having played them in European competition in recent years. They came third in Group C in the Europa League last season, famously beating Jose Mourinho’s Roma on matchday one.

Ludogorets should ease past Ballkani with a team of their stature, and their experience in European competitions in recent years will only solidify that. An easy Ludogorets win to complete the treble for Tuesday.
