FK Qarabag vs Lincoln Red Imps – Qarabag & Over 2.5 Goals

The first game of Wednesday’s treble sees Qarabag welcome Lincoln Red Imps. The hosts are the reigning Azerbaijan champions and have a good record of qualifying for Europe in the past few years.

They came third in their Europa League group last season and failed to beat Gent in the Conference League play-offs, so will be hoping to qualify this year for another run in Europe. However, they haven’t qualified for the Champions League since 2017, so a win here is a must if they have any chance. 

Their hosts are the Gibraltar National League champions and last qualified for a spot in Europe in 2021. They played six games in their Conference League group, losing all six and conceding 17 whilst only scoring twice.

It is clear there is a gulf in quality here. The first leg of this tie ended in a 2-1 win to Qarabag with a 94th minute winner. Now this tie is back in Azerbaijan, we expect Qarabag to show their superiority. For this reason, Qarabag win and over 2.5 goals in the way to go here. 

Ferencvaros vs Klaksvik – Ferencvaros to Nil

Our second game is Ferencvaros vs Klaksvik, the Faroe Island Premier League champions. There is a clear gulf in class between these two sides so we can only see this going one way.

Klaksvik have never qualified for Europe before, whilst Ferencvaros are a regular in Europe and have last played in the Champions League in the 2020/21 season. They topped their Europa League group last year but fell to Bayer Leverkusen in the round of 16.

The first leg of this tie finished in a surprising goalless draw, but with this leg coming back to Budapest, we can only see it a dominant Ferencvaros display. The Hungarian champions to win this one to nil. 

Ludogorets vs FK Ballkani – Ludogorets to Nil

The final game of Wednesday’s sees Bulgarian champions Ludogorets take on Kosovo champions FK Ballkani. Ludogorets are by far the favourites coming into this, purely based on their European experience. Ludogorets haven’t been in the Champions League since 2017, but they have qualified for the Europa League every year since. 

They failed to make it out of the Europa League group stages last year and were beaten by Anderlecht in the Conference League play-off after that. Whilst, although FK Ballkani managed to qualify for the Conference League last season, they finished dead last in their group and conceded 11 in six games. 

The first leg of this tie finished surpassingly 2-0 to FK Ballkani, however, playing this one at hoe gives Ludogorets the edge. We feel they will be too strong on the day, and although they may not win the tie, they will win the game. Ludogorets to win to nil.
