Sweden Women vs Italy Women – Sweden win

The first game of our Saturday treble is Sweden vs Italy in Group G.

Both sides won their opening game of the tournament against South Africa and Argentina respectively. Following their draw, the winner of this game will qualify for the knockout stages automatically.

Sweden left it late to turn around a one goal deposit against the South Africans, and will go into their next game hoping for another win to move them into the knockouts.

The same can be said for Italy, who earned a late win in Auckland against a spirited Argentina side. They got the win in the end, and that is what matters.

Given the Swede’s third place finish in 2019, we think they’ll use the experience of their last Womens World Cup outing and see out the win in this one.

France Women vs Brazil Women – Over 2.5 Goals

The second game between France and Brazil could be an interesting one to say the least.

Brazil’s dominant display in their opening game, where they swept Panama away 4-0, highlights their strong capabilities of topping Group F. France could only manage a goalless draw against Jamaica, and a win for Brazil will guarantee their chances of reaching the knockout stages.

France did beat Brazil 2-1 in the last tournament back in 2019 however, and this will be the third encounter between the two nations at a Womens World Cup. The French have also kept clean sheets in four of their last five group stage games, and clearly have solid foundations.

It could be a close game, and we are unsure which way it will go, but we think the over 2.5 goals mark could be worth considering for this one, given the qualities of both sides.

Panama Women vs Jamaica Women – Jamaica win

The final game of the Saturday Treble sees Panama and Jamaica lock horns.

Panama were beaten comfortably by Brazil, while Jamacia held France to a goalless draw.

Both sides will want to pick up a win in order to boost their unlikely chances of progressing to the knockout stages.

Jamaica were impressive in their stalemate with the French, and we think they’ll show the same fight to get the win here, which would significantly boost their chances of progression.
