Japan Women vs Spain Women – Spain win

The first game of our treble sees both already qualified Japan and Spain face to see who will top the group.

Both sides saw off Costa Rica and Zambia, keeping clean sheets in the process, and the winner of this will top the group. Spain will go through on goal difference if they avoid defeat.

Spain have been favourites for the entire tournament and their performances against Costa Rica and Zambia highlighted those credentials, even if Japan hit the same sides for similar scorelines.

Spain were narrowly beaten by eventual winners England in last years European Championship, and will want to go further in this years World Cup.

We think they’ll top Group C by winning this game.

Republic of Ireland Women vs Nigeria Women – Under 2.5 Goals

Already eliminated, the Republic of Ireland Women can regain some pride when they take on Nigeria Women in their final Group B game.

Nigeria can qualify for the knockout rounds if they avoid defeat, so we may see a more defensive lineup and gameplan from them.

Ireland will want to avoid three defeats, so we could see a stalemate in this one.

Even if we don’t, it will probably be a low scoring affair, so Under 2.5 Goals is our selection for this leg.

Canada Women vs Australia Women – Under 2.5 Goals

Co-hosts Australia could welcome back Sam Kerr for their must win game against Canada Women in Group B.

The Matildas need a win to guarantee their qualification chances, a draw might not be enough for them to progress if Nigeria beat Ireland.

The last time these two sides played in a World Cup match was in 2007, which ended 2-2.

With Canada able to qualify with a draw, and Australia needing a win, we might see a more cagey affair, so we’ll go for the same Under 2.5 Goals mark in the final leg of our treble.
