Tobol Kostanay vs Basel – Basel

The first game of Thursday's treble sees Kazakh side Tobol Kostanay host European regulars Basel. The hosts are over half way through their regular season, and they aren’t doing too well, sitting in 6th spot. They have been leaking goals all season, conceding 18 in 15 games, whilst they have been struggling to score at the other end.

The visitors have just got their Swiss campaign under way and but have gotten off to a shaky start, winning one and losing one. They finished 2nd on goal difference behind Solvan Bratislava in their Conference League group last season and made it to the semi-final, eventually losing out to Fiorentina.

Although Tobol come into this one with the 3-1 advantage from the first leg after a 56th minute red card turned the tie, Basel are for sure the favourites. They have a much better quality of squad and play in a far more competitive league. Although we can’t be sure Basel will overcome the aggregate deficit to progress, we think they should win this one.

Progress Niedercorn vs FC Midtjylland – FC Midtjylland

The second game of Thursday's treble has Danish side FC Midtjylland travel to Luxemburg to face Progress Niedercorn. The visitors have been regulars in the Champions League in recent years and made it out of their Europa League group last year.

The gulf in quality in these side is evident so there shouldn’t be too many surprises here. Midtjylland are joint top of the league with two games played, and come into this tie 2-0 on aggregate. The away side to win this one fairly easily.

19:00 Thursday

KF Tirana vs Besiktas – Besiktas

The final game of Thursday's treble has Turkish giants Besiktas face off with Albanian side KF Tirana. The first leg of this game finished 3-1 to Besiktas, and we can't see momentum swing in the opposite way for this one.

The Albanian side are well below the quality of their counterparts, and that was shown in the first leg. Besiktas failed to qualify for Europe last year, despite progressing to the Champions League group stages the year before, so they will be looking to go far in Europe once again this year.

With an advantage coming into this one and a much better quality of squad, we can't see anything other than another away win for this one.
