11:00 Wednesday
Australia Women vs England Women – England Women
The first game of Wednesday’s treble is features the semi-finals of the women’s World Cup. Australia take on England, and with the US already heading home, the winner of this one has every chance of glory.
Australia are the home nation so will obviously have the home advantage, but with the US no longer involved, England are second favourites to be crowned world champions, only a year after being crowned European champions. The winner will face Spain in the final after a 2-1 victory over Sweden claimed their spot on Tuesday morning.
England have conceded only twice all tournament and only one of those was from open play in the quarter-finals. Although they haven’t been at their best, they have grind out results and prove why they are European Champions.
Australia topped their group and edged past France on penalties to get this far, but it is England who are 6/4 favourites, so the Lionesses to win this one is the pick here.
19:45 Wednesday
QPR vs Norwich – Norwich
We go to the Carabao Cup for the next game of Wednesday’s travel to see an all-Championship affair between QPR and Norwich.
Coming into the season QPR were heavily tipped to struggle and postmarked for relegation, and their first game of the season helped solidify this. They were battered 4-0 on the road at Watford, managing only one shot on target and only managing 29% of possession. They put it right in the next game, beating Cardiff 2-1 in Wales, but they face a greater challenge when Norwich visit.
Norwich have started well, going unbeaten in their first two with a 2-1 win vs Hull and an excellent 4-4 draw against a good Southampton side. QPR had the second-worst home record last season, winning only 26%, so we can see them struggling. Whoscored have QPR chances of winning at 0% and Norwich’s at 50%, so Norwich to win is the obvious pick here.
20:00 Wednesday
Man City vs Sevilla – Man City
The final game of Wednesday’s treble features Man City vs Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup final. Last year's Champions League winners are the favourites coming into this, but as we have seen in the past, this game can go either way.
City beat Burnley easily in the first game of the Premier League after losing the Community Cup final on penalties and they look set to challenge in all four competitions yet again. Sevilla, on the other hand, were beaten at home in their first league game, so will come into this with far less confidence.
The final will be played at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Greece and will be the 5th meeting between the two. City have won all four previous games, with the last two games in 2022 finishing with an aggregate of 7-1. Whoscored have their chances of winning at 100%, so it’s an easy choice. City to win their first bit of silverware.
