Mark O'Haire has three betting tips for this weekend’s Premier League fixtures.
Man United vs Nottingham Forest
Raphael Varane Over 0.5 Shots
Advised Bet: 1pt @ 5/4 Bet365
Manchester United have made an inauspicious start to the new season. The Red Devils have created plenty in forward areas, yet profligate finishing and poor defending has contributed to a sloppy opening stanza. A home fixture with Nottingham Forest on Saturday at least represents an opportunity to put a more compromising performance together.
With key assets flailing in the final-third, centre-back Raphael Varane’s exploits from set-pieces have given United a welcome edge. The World Cup winner has already had two attempts in each of the first two fixtures, a return that makes the 5/4 (2.25) on the French star to have Over 0.5 Shots here a little too big to ignore with Bet365.
Everton vs Wolves
Mario Lemina At Least 1 Shot
Advised Bet: 1pt @ 5/6 William Hill
Only Brighton have attempted more shots in the Premier League this season than Wolves, with the Old Gold tallying 39 efforts already. Gary O’Neil’s outfit have generated 4.50 Expected Goals (xG) but their only goal of the campaign has come as a consolation when 4-0 down against the Seagulls last weekend.
Nevertheless, Wolves should fancy their chances at Everton on Saturday, and all-action midfielder Mario Lemina appears undervalued in the shot markets. William Hill are dangling 5/6 (1.83) on the Gabonese ace to take At Least 1 Shot at goal despite the 29-year-old getting two or more attempts away in each of his first two EPL starts this season.
Brighton vs West Ham
Jarrod Bowen 1+ Offsides
Advised Bet: 1pt @ 14/5 Betway
Brighton have made an eye-catching start with successive 4-1 thrashings of Luton and Wolves and will look to enhance their 100% record when welcoming terrible travellers West Ham to the Amex on Saturday.
Small samples, of course, but the Seagulls have also been amongst the leading pack for catching their opposition offside. Albion’s opponents have been flagged seven times already – Luton (x3) and Wolves (x4) – and so it may pay to support Hammers forward Jarrod Bowen in the 1+ Offside market at a very generous 14/5 (3.80) with Betway.
Bowen was flagged twice against Chelsea’s high-line last time out and looks the most likely candidate to run in-behind Brighton’s rearguard. With James Ward-Prowse and Lucas Paqueta firing the ammunition, the England international shouldn’t be short of supply and opportunity.
