Spain vs Cyprus – Spain Win + Over 4.5 goals

Spain welcome Cyprus in a match they will be expecting to win with relative ease to kick off the Tuesday treble.

Their fortunes on the pitch has been a up and down story. They exited the World Cup 2022 in December to a resilient Morocco side on penalties, but recovered to beat Croatia in the Nations League Final in June. Their recent fixture was a 7-1 victory over Georgia was a highlight and they’ll want to continue that with a win over Cyprus.

The visitors have conceded 11 goals in four games, but Spain will be in a confident manner going into this one, and they will be up against the very best attackers in world football. They haven’t played against each other in a while, but their last encounter in 1999 was an 8-0 win.

We’re not suggesting that will be the case again, but we do think that a Spain win with over 4.5 goals in the game could happen, so that’s what we’ll back for this first leg.

Scotland vs England – Over 2.5 Goals

The 150th Heritage match between Scotland and England takes place on Tuesday, and it could be a cracker.

The most recent fixture was anything but, finishing 0-0 as part of the Euro 2020 Group Stage, but with Scotland in good form, maybe that might change. England haven’t lost to the Scots this century, but might face the toughest Scottish team this century.

This “friendly” is only friendly by name, with Hampden Park the centre piece for this occasion. Many home fans will turn to their near win over the English in the last game at Hampden in June 2017, where a late Leigh Griffiths brace sent Hampden into wild celebration, only to be denied by a late Harry Kane equaliser.

Eight wins from their last nine in all competitions, including a 2-0 win at home to Spain, indicate England won’t have it all their own way, and we could see a memorable night on Tuesday.

England have a lot of quality and having reached the Euro 2020 final and World Cup quarter-finals more recently, there is nothing to say they can’t win this game. Their recent performance against Ukraine speaks otherwise in a passionate encounter, and this is expected to be a similar fixture.

One side in high confidence and one with quality means we could see goals, so we’ll go for over 2.5 goals in this one, just like the encounter at this same venue just over six years ago.

Germany vs France – France win

The final leg of our Tuesday treble sees France make the short trip to troubled Germany in a friendly game.

The hosts sacked Hansi Flick, the first German manager to be sacked by their football association, and have been in poor form over the last few years.

They were fantastic in the first eight games for Flick following their Euros 2020 exit to England, but with just three wins since September 2022 - notably against Oman, Costa Rica and Peru - a World Cup Group Stage exit and now no wins and four defeats in five games, Flick has paid the price.

France come into this one having won five out of five in 2023, and have yet to concede a goal. Their latest win over Ireland was very comfortable, and with a Germany side out of sorts, they might expect the same in Dortmund. The Germans have not beat France since their encounter in the World Cup 2014, suffering four defeats and two draws, the most recent of those coming at Euro 2020.

With France looking excellent and Germany looking anything but, it would be hard to see anything but a France win in Germany on Tuesday evening.
