AC Milan vs Newcastle United – Milan to win and BTTS

The first leg our Tuesday night Treble comes from the San Siro as they welcome Newcastle United for the first time in history.

Newcastle United make a long-awaited return to European football in the 2023-24 Champions League after a 20-year absence. They face AC Milan, a seven-time Champions League winner, in their Group F opener.

In the Milan derby over the weekend, AC Milan went on to lose 5-1 to their city rivals Inter, a bitterly disappointing result for the Rossoneri. That was Milan’s fifth consecutive loss to Inter and last year Milan were eliminated by Inter in the Champions League semi-finals, losing 3-0 on aggregate. The Milan fans will be hoping that their team performs better under the lights against Newcastle.

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe’s side found relief when his team ended their three-game losing streak against Brentford. Callum Wilson scored from the penalty spot in a dramatic match, where another Wilson goal was disallowed, and a second penalty for Newcastle was chalked off.

The Magpies will be looking to find the form that got them into this prestigious competition when they visit the San Siro on Tuesday night. Despite that, we think that AC Milan will do enough to get the win, and we expect goals from both teams.

20:00 Tuesday

Lazio vs Atletico Madrid - Atletico Madrid to win

In the opening matchday of Group E in the Champions League, Lazio take on Atletico Madrid at Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Lazio are back in the Champions League for the first time since 2021, while Atletico Madrid are regular contenders, though they were eliminated in the group stage last season.

Lazio are likely to have a full squad, and coach Maurizio Sarri may make changes to the starting lineup, following their bitterly disappointing 3-1 defeat away to Juventus on Saturday, for this opening group game.

Atletico Madrid, however, are dealing with early-season injuries, including a serious injury to Thomas Lemar. Both teams have had tough defeats recently, but Lazio's defensive issues should give Atletico a chance to secure an important opening victory in Group E.

20:00 Tuesday

Barcelona vs Antwerp - Barcelona

The last leg of our Tuesday treble comes from Spain as Barcelona entertain Royal Antwerp.

Barcelona look to start their Champions League journey with a victory as they host the Belgian outfit at the Camp Nou on Tuesday night.

Barcelona come into this match following a convincing 5-0 win over Real Betis in La Liga on Saturday, whilst Antwerp secured a 3-0 victory over Westerlo in Belgium's top division on Friday.

Barcelona have had a strong start to the domestic season, and the quality of their squad will make it challenging to envision Antwerp getting any points in this encounter.

The Belgian side's potential performance in the group may not hinge on Tuesday's match, as it is arguably their toughest fixture on paper. We anticipate that Antwerp will face defeat when they face former Champions League winners Barcelona, who know how to win this competition.
