LASK Linz vs Liverpool - Liverpool to win by three goals.

The first leg of our Thursday night treble comes from Austria as LASK Linz host European giants Liverpool for the first time. 

Liverpool find themselves in the Europa League due to their fifth-place finish in the Premier League last season, and will be hoping that their stay in this competition ends with them as champions, as they head into the tournament as favourites. LASK Linz secured their spot in the competition by defeating Zrinjski Mostar in qualifying.

The Reds are currently on a four-match winning streak in the Premier League and sit in third place. However, their defence has been inconsistent, whist LASK Linz are known for their attacking prowess at home, having scored 13 goals in their last five league games. 

We expect an open match and challenging one for Liverpool, however we believe that the former European champions will be too much for LASK Linz.

Brighton vs AEK Athens – Brighton

Brighton & Hove Albion are set to begin their first-ever European campaign by facing AEK Athens in their opening Europa League group-stage match this Thursday.

Their participation in this European competition follows their sixth-place finish in the Premier League last season, while AEK Athens, despite winning the Greek Super League, missed out on Champions League qualification via the earlier qualification rounds. 

Brighton's historic Premier League season secured their place in the Europa League group stage, despite concerns arising from manager Graham Potter's departure for Chelsea in September. 

After their record-high finish in the top division, Brighton have continued their strong performance in the  league this season, amassing nine points from four matches, which included wins against Luton Town, Manchester United and Wolves with a single defeat to West Ham.

The Seagulls will be highly motivated for their Europa League debut on their home turf, and their quality suggests they can comfortably beat AEK Athens on Thursday.

West Ham vs Backa Topola – West Ham 

The last leg of our Thursday treble comes from East London as West Ham host Backa Topola. 
West Ham enter the Europa League stage after a remarkable victory in the Europa Conference League last season. 

The Hammers have had a positive start to the Premier League season and will be looking to carry their momentum into this fixture and beyond. They begin their latest European journey with a favourable matchup against Serbian side Backa Topola. The visitors, new to the group stages of this competition, after they dropped down to the Europa League following their 7-1 Champions League third round qualifying defeat to Braga.

West Ham recently suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season, losing 3-1 to Manchester City, with James Ward-Prowse initially giving them the lead. On the other hand, Backa Topola recorded an impressive 6-3 victory in their first Serbian Super League game after the international break.

We back the Hammers to extend their good form in their Europa League opening game and win in-front of their home fans.
