Man City vs Nottingham Forest - Man City

The first leg of our Saturday FavFour backs champions Manchester City to maintain their perfect start when they face Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium. 

Manchester City are currently the top of the Premier League table, while Nottingham Forest sit in eighth place with seven points from their last four games.

Manchester City have won all five of their Premier League matches, including a 3-1 victory over West Ham United, with goals from Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva, and Erling Haaland.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest have previously come up against the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea away from home this season and managed to accumulate seven points.

Although Forest won 1-0 against Chelsea in their last away game, they haven't won any of their last six league meetings with Manchester City. 

Forest have previously caused problems for the top teams but City's attacking prowess makes them firm favourites for another home victory, despite conceding in their last four matches.

Luton Town vs Wolves - Wolves

Luton Town are seeking their first Premier League points as they host Wolverhampton Wanderers at Kenilworth Road in a 15:00 KO on Saturday. 

Luton recently lost 1-0 to Fulham, whilst their only win this season was against Gillingham in the EFL Cup. Their campaign has started as expected and they are struggling to find their feet in the Premier League. Rob Edwards will be hoping for a win this weekend when Wolves come to Kenilworth Road.

Wolves, on the other hand, struggled to hold onto a 1-0 lead and lost 3-1 to Liverpool in Gamweek five. They are currently in 16th place with four losses out of five matches. Wolves have conceded 11 goals, second only to Burnley in terms of goals allowed this season.

While Wolves have shown attacking prowess, they've been wasteful at times. Nonetheless, we expect them to create many chances against an out-of-depth Luton side and it seems likely that Luton may face their fifth consecutive loss in the Premier League.

Leicester vs Bristol City - Leicester

Leicester City are set to face Bristol City with the aim of maintaining their position in the top two of the Championship. 

Despite a perception that they weren't performing at their best under Enzo Maresca, Leicester have recorded impressive away victories against Southampton and Norwich City, accumulating 18 points from seven games and currently sitting in second behind Preston North End. 

Leicester's defence, however, have yet to secure a clean sheet at the King Power Stadium this season, which could be an opportunity for Bristol City this weekend.

Nigel Pearson's Bristol City have had a good start to the season, with three wins, three draws, and only one defeat, leaving fans optimistic about this season and chances of promotion. 

Although Leicester were defeated at home by Hull, they won't underestimate an in-form Bristol City side. However, Leicester seem to be improving under Maresca, making them the favourites this weekend.

Middlesbrough vs Southampton - Middlesbrough

The last leg of this weekend's FavFour comes from the North East as Middlesbrough face Southampton in the Championship hoping to claim their first victory of the 2023-24 season. 

Boro are currently at the bottom of the league table and their early season promotion contenders tag has been stripped, with no wins in their last 12 Championship matches dating back to April 24th. Manager Michael Carrick's position seemed safe due to the summer signings, but Middlesbrough are already five points adrift of 20th place in the table.

A recent 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday was seen as a positive step, even though last weekend’s opponents Sheffield Wednesday are also struggling. 

Southampton, on the other hand, have had their own defensive struggles despite seeing lots of the ball over the last few weeks, raising questions about their playing style. 

Both sides poor form this campaign makes it difficult to pick a winner, but Middlesbrough may have a chance to secure their first win, considering Southampton's defensive vulnerabilities. We also think that home advantage could be crucial in deciding the outcome of this leg. So, we are going for a Middlesbrough win.
