England vs Australia – Over 3.5 Goals

England host Australia at Wembley in a friendly match on Friday.

They have not met since 2016, where England won 2-1, but the visitors have been in a confident mood ever since the successes of the Qatar World Cup, where they reached the knockout stages for the first time since Germany 2006.

After their narrow defeat to Argentina in the Round of 16, they have won just once in the four games they’ve played since, losing to both Ecuador and Argentina.

On the other hand, England have been flying as of late. They have won five of their last six games, with the draw coming away at Ukraine in the latest international break in September. They return to Wembley for the first time since March, after their 2-0 win over Ukraine.

There have been over 3.5 goals in three of the last four England games, with the 1-1 draw in Poland to Ukraine being the only exception. There might be some players staking a place in Southgate’s team for Euro 2024 next year, so there is still a fair bit to play for in this friendly. We think that over 3.5 goals will be scored in this one.

Netherlands vs France – Both Teams to Score

A more important fixture between two prestigious teams in Netherlands vs France takes place in the Euro 2024 Qualifiers.

The reverse fixture saw France comfortably win against the Dutch 4-0, and the hosts will be hoping for a better game as a response. France are yet to concede in the group so far, which may prove difficult to do against the World Cup runners-up.

Three straight wins since that defeat in the group highlight Ronald Koeman’s side are on to better things.

We think in front of a Dutch crowd, they’ll be able to get on the score sheet and break the French perfect defensive record so far in the group. We also think they are susceptible  to conceding, so we’ll back both teams to score here.

Austria vs Belgium – Both Teams to Score

Belgium travel to Austria for their latest Euro 2024 encounter. 

The reverse fixture finished 1-1, with Romelu Lukaku getting on the scoresheet back in June earlier this year, and both sides are unbeaten on the same amount of points. Belgium’s only goal conceded was against the Austrians, and they will face a strong outfit in Vienna.

Austria made it to the last two Euros finals in France and Europe, and will be hoping for a third successive Euros final appearance. They haven’t suffered defeat since September 2022 in the Nations League, and have been impressive at home in their group.

Given the fact both teams scored in the return fixture, there is every chance that this happens again. Belgium’s defensive record might prove decisive in Austria getting on the scoresheet, but we think both teams will score in this fixture regardless of that.
