Northern Ireland vs Slovenia – Slovenia to win

Fresh from respective 3-0 wins in their most recent Euro 2024 qualifiers, Northern Ireland and Slovenia prepare for battle on matchday eight in Group H on Tuesday.

The Green and White Army broke a painful losing run in a three-goal success over San Marino last time out, while their in-form visitors put Finland to the sword with consummate ease.

The playoffs could yet provide a saving grace for Northern Ireland, who are now on the hunt for back-to-back victories in any competition for the first time since September 2021, but the recent exploits of their visitors makes such a scenario appear unlikely.

Defences did not come out on top when Northern Ireland and Slovenia locked horns a few weeks ago, and a similar tale should unfold in Belfast, where the visitors have a lot more to fight for than the Green and White Army.

Doubts over Sesko's condition could harm Slovenia's prospects of back-to-back wins over Northern Ireland, but the visitors have found goals from numerous sources in qualifying and should fight fire with even more fire to maintain their top-two standing.

Lithuania vs Hungry – Hungary to win

Hungary can book their place at Euro 2024 with victory over Lithuania at the Darius and Girenas Stadium in Group G of the qualifiers on Tuesday night.

A win will wrap up a top-two spot for the Magyars, whereas Lithuania must win and hope that Serbia lose to Montenegro to stand any chance of qualifying for next summer's tournament.

Lithuania go into this game with an impressive 2-0 away win in Bulgaria on Saturday evening, albeit the hosts made life easier for the away team as they had to play with 10 men for the entire second half.

Both teams come into this match on the back of wins on Saturday, but the difference between the two teams in terms of group standings and quality of performances is still too obvious to make it an equal match up.

Hungary are still undefeated away from home in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, and it should remain that way after the final whistle in Kaunas on Tuesday night.

England vs Italy – England to win to nil

Reuniting under the Wembley arch two years on from a gripping continental final, England and Italy do battle in a pivotal Euro 2024 qualifier in Group C on Tuesday evening.

Gareth Southgate's men are potentially just 90 minutes away from punching their ticket to Germany, although their three-point lead over the Azzurri is far from unassailable.

With one eye on the impending visit of the European champions, England head coach Southgate promised to keep some of his more established internationals in bubble wrap on Friday night, as a host of fringe players took to the field to test their mettle against Australia.

Ukraine may have broken England's 100% record on matchday five in Group C, but with 13 points next to their name, the hosts need only defeat Italy on Tuesday to ensure a top-two finish, and even a draw would suffice if Ukraine - who have played a game more - are unable to beat resident minnows Malta.

An injury-hit Italy attack may have enjoyed a field day against Malta, but with the calibre of opposition - and indeed defending - increasing significantly on Tuesday, the Azzurri's 22-game unbeaten run on the road in Euros qualifiers is destined to come to an end.

England were far from convincing in their success over the Socceroos, but with a plethora of well-rested stars returning to the Wembley turf, another hard-fought win will do the trick and seal qualification for next year's showpiece with two games to spare.
