Tranmere vs Doncaster – Tranmere 

The first our Friday treble is between Tranmere Rovers who will be banking on their strong home record as they face Doncaster Rovers at Prenton Park.

Despite recent back-to-back losses, Tranmere continue to face managerial uncertainty. Their woes continue after back-to-back defeats, including a challenging match against Crewe Alexandra, where Crewe finished with nine men. 

Doncaster celebrated a significant victory recently over Sutton, showcasing their potential for the 2023/24 campaign and an ambitious promotion push. Currently 19th in the fourth-tier standings with 14 points from 13 matches, Doncaster will be hoping to close the eight-point gap to seventh-placed Gillingham this evening. 

Tranmere have relied heavily on their home form at Prenton Park to stay clear of the relegation zone with supporters expecting a strong display amid the ongoing search for a new manager. Doncaster have been displaying promotion-worthy capabilities, and we predicted them secure all three points.

Newport County vs Walsall – Newport County

Newport County are aiming for a crucial victory against Walsall on Friday to move clear of the relegation zone, while Walsall are looking to secure maximum points, putting them just one point away from the playoff spots in South Wales. 

Despite a promising start to the season, Newport's performance has waned, shifting them from promotion contenders to potential relegation candidates in a matter of weeks. With only one win in their last eight league matches - a 2-1 victory over Colchester United. 

Newport has faced consecutive losses to Harrogate Town and Swindon Town and their defence has been very poor since their last clean sheet on August 19.

Despite setbacks for Walsall with a 4-0 defeat at Sutton United, they have since displayed resilience with a 3-1 victory at Bradford City and a 4-1 triumph over Gillingham following two successive losses, and currently sit 13th in the league.

A win this evening will move within five points of the top, offering an opportunity for short-term improvement in their standing. Currently experiencing inconsistencies under new head coach Matt Sadler, we predict Walsall will be able to capitalise on Newport's struggles.

Rotherham vs Ipswich - Ipswich 

The last of our Friday treble comes between Ipswich Town and Rotherham United at the New York Stadium, where an Ipswich win would propel them to the top of the Championship table.

Whilst Rotherham come into the game facing a four-point gap from safety, desperately needing their second league win of the season. 

Rotherham will no doubt take heart from Ipswich slipping up on their previous visit to Yorkshire at a time when their home form will prove pivotal in their efforts to get out of trouble.

Five of their six points Rotherham have picked up this season have come on familiar territory, with their only win of the season coming against Norwich City when the Canaries were challenging for top spot.

Rotherham's timing may be opportune, playing Ipswich after the international break. However, it's unlikely that the visitors will take long to regain momentum.

Rotherham have struggled of late, having failed to win in their last six league fixtures, losing four times and not scoring more than once in any match. We predict that Ipswich will be too much for Rotherham United this time out.
