Bristol City vs Ipswich – Ipswich win

Ipswich travel to face Bristol City in the Championship for the first leg of this Wednesday treble.

The hosts won on the weekend at home to Coventry, bouncing back from their defeat at Leeds. They sit eighth in the Championship, but have won just twice in the last five games, losing three.

Ipswich’s game at Rotherham was postponed, but they’ve won all but one of the last seven games. You wouldn’t want to bet against them picking up another win towards promotion to the Premier League, especially considering Bristol City have the joint 6th worst points tally at home, picking up eight points from six games.

We’ll take another Ipswich win away at Bristol City to kick off our Wednesday treble.

Celtic vs Atletico Madrid - Atletico Madrid win

Atletico Madrid fly to Scotland for their game against Celtic in the Champions League encounter of the treble.

Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side were snatched of a point in their last European night, losing 2-1 to Lazio after conceding a late goal in stoppage time at the end of the game. Three defeats could lead them needing to climb an almighty hill in order to progress to the knockout round.

Atletico would have two wins from two but also fell victim to a late Lazio goal, conceding a remarkable goal from the Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel. Since that draw, they’ve picked up six straight wins, including against city rivals Real Madrid. They won away last weekend and are expected to carry on their successful run.

Celtic have been very good domestically, but the level required to compete at the top level of the European game escapes them. We think another defeat could be on the cards, as we think Atletico Madrid will win this one and top Group E in the process.

Stoke vs Leeds – Leeds win

The final leg of our Wednesday treble sees a third away victory, with Leeds travelling to a Stoke side languishing near the bottom of the table.

Their last four games has seen an improvement in performances, and wins at Bristol City and at home to Sunderland backs that up. Stoke will hope the Sunderland win is a turning point for them, and they can kick on throughout the rest of the season.

Leeds will be hoping that is not the case, and will want to continue their rise in the table. Four wins in their last five games has certainly elevated their position, and they now sit in third behind only Ipswich and Leicester. A big comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against Norwich will certainly keep the momentum going, and Stoke could be the next victims of their good run.

It will be an interesting game as both sides picked up impressive victories at the weekend, but we think the quality of Leeds will shine through. We’ll back the visitors to pick up all three points to finish off our Wednesday treble.
