West Ham vs Arsenal – Arsenal 

The first of our Wednesday treble comes from East London, as West Ham play host to London rivals Arsenal in the EFL League Cup.

Both sides come into this one off the back of completely different weekends in the Premier League. The hosts come into this cup tie having not recorded a win since they traveled to Freiburg in the Europa League on the 5th of October and having lost to Everton at the weekend. 

That result meant that the Hammers failed to pick up a win in domestic football last month. David Moyes will be hoping that his side can have a positive start to November when the Gunners come to the London Stadium.

In contrast, the North London side will come into this game with their tales still wagging from their triumphing victory at the weekend against league strugglers, Sheffield United. Arsenal have had a terrific month having lost just once in five games. The loss came away to Lens in the Champions League. 

This game is bound to be riddled with goals as West Ham who have been poor of late, all around the park come up against an Arsenal team high in confidence and with attacking options at their disposal having scored eleven goals in the last five games.

Fulham vs Ipswich - Ipswich

The 2nd game in our Wednesday treble is certainly not a game that you will want to miss. As Championship highflyers Ipswich host Fulham under the lights at Portman Road. 

Ipswich will no doubt be coming into this game thinking that they can cause an upset and knock out the Premier League side. Ipswich host Fulham knowing that they can score goals having put eleven in the net in October. Thanks to the dominance they have possessed on the pitch against their opponents, they now find themselves 2nd in the Championship. 

Fulham come into this EFL tie having beaten Norwich at home thanks to goals from Vinicius and Alex Iwobi. Since that win Fulham have only recorded one win in the league, against Sheffield United, with losses against Chelsea and Spurs. 

Fulham will be aware of Ipswich’s ability to score goals and close games off early and Fulham must be weary of that. We predict that there will be an upset on the cards, going the way of Ipswich.

Man Utd vs Newcastle – Man Utd 

The last leg of Monday Night Treble comes between last year’s EFL Cup finalists Manchester United and Newcastle United. The visitors progressed to the round of 16 having defeated European Champions, Manchester City. 

Both teams come into this cup tie on the back of very mixed results in all competitions, and so this is a very close game to call. 

Man Utd were very well beaten at home at the weekend as they hosted Manchester City, Man Utd struggled to keep up with the attacking and fast-paced game that Man City like to play. 

Newcastle are starting to play a similar brand of football to Man City, which has brought them success in recent months and will be hoping to replicate that this evening. 

Man Utd will be hoping that Marcus Rashford can find the form he found last year, which saw him score 23 goals across all competitions. Both Managers will no doubt be resting a few of their star players in preparation for the Champions League group games the following week, where both teams need to win, to keep their European dreams well and truly alive. 

This will be a close game, but we think that Man Utd will do just enough to progress to the last eight of the competition.
