Football Accumulator Tips: Saturday 15/1 FavFour predicts an Arsenal win

Arsenal vs Burnley – Arsenal

Kicking off our FavFour is probably the most certain to win of the four selections, which is an Arsenal win at home to Burnley.

The Gunners welcome Burnley to the Emirates with the hosts doing well near the top of the table, and the visitors doing poorly near the bottom. Arsenal succumbed to their first defeat of the season on the weekend, seeing their second invincible feat wiped out for another season.

Newcastle won a dubious and controversial game last Saturday, and Arsenal will be licking their wounds from that one. They picked themselves up to win in midweek against Sevilla, putting them within a point of qualification to the knockout rounds.

As for Burnley, it’s now five straight defeats in all competitions since their 2-1 win over Luton. The Clarets have scored just twice in those five games, all while shipping 14 goals. Their 2.45 goals conceded per game on average is one of the worst in the division, and are a complete liability at the back. They have also scored the least goals with eight so far this season and are a best price of 5/6 for the drop.

It would be a big shock to see Burnley pick up anything from the Emirates in their game on Saturday, but they have done so on their last two visits, winning via an Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang own goal in December 2020 and securing a goalless draw in January 2022. However, an Arsenal win would be silly to go against, so that’s what we’ll back as the first leg of our FavFour.

Crystal Palace vs Everton – Everton

The second leg of this FavFour sees Everton travel to Crystal Palace for their Premier League match this weekend.

Despite the five places between the two sides, the visitors come into this one in better form than their South London opponents. The Toffees have picked up two more points in their last six games, winning three of those, with defeats at home to Luton and away at Liverpool being the only defeats, shaking off their early season fears after losing four of their opening five matches.

As for Palace, their only win in their last four came last weekend away at struggling Burnley, in which they allowed the hosts to rack up 17 shots in total.

Despite that, they have managed to keep five clean sheets this season, highlighting that they are somewhat solid at the back against the lesser teams. Four of their five clean sheets have come against teams below them but they have only mustered one win at Selhurst Park this season.

The return of Eberiche Eze will be a big boost for Palace, but Sean Dyche’s well trained Everton side have started to show what they are really capable of and could pick up another away win in the capital, following their away win against West Ham. An Everton win at Selhurst Park is our second selection for this week’s FavFour.

Southampton vs West Brom – Southampton

We dip into the Championship for the next two selections, and the first comes from St Mary’s as Southampton welcome West Brom.

As two former Premier League sides both relegated over the previous three seasons, the last time these two played was in the top flight, with the Baggies picking up a 3-0 victory in April 2021.

A similar scoreline might be hard to come by for the visitors though, as Southampton come into this on a seven match unbeaten run. The Saints are still recovering from their dismal September run which saw them lose four straight league games, but they will be in a confident mood.

Then again, so will the Baggies! They’ve won three successive games which has moved them to a point below the Saints. They have conceded the third least goals, whereas the Saints have conceded 25 goals, 10 more than the Midlands side.

However, the Saints are in front of their home crowd, which will surely play a part in getting the right result. Add that to their long unbeaten record and it would hard to see West Brom coming away with anything in this one. We’ll back the South Coast outfit as the third leg of this Saturday FavFour.

Cardiff City vs Norwich – Cardiff City

The final leg comes at the Cardiff City Stadium, as struggling Norwich travel to Wales for their latest Championship encounter against Cardiff.

The Bluebirds are sitting just outside the play-offs by a point, after Preston’s over Coventry took them back above the Welsh outfit for now. They picked up a big win away at Huddersfield and beat Bristol City before their goalless draw against Stoke and will be wanting to take advantage of Norwich’s abysmal form at the moment.

Just one win in their last 10 games in all competitions for the Canaries and dark clouds are starting to settle around Carrow Road. It’s now four straight defeats for them, and David Wagner is feeling the pressure. Many rumours have been swarming around his current position, and with the international break looming, another defeat here could see the end of the Norwich boss.

The visitors won their last meeting with Cardiff back in February at Carrow Road, but lost on their last trip to the Cardiff City Stadium, which we fear will reoccur. We think Cardiff will get the three points and Wagner will be left empty handed once again come Saturday evening, which could see the end of his time at Norwich.
