Everton vs Newcastle – Both Teams to Score

Everton face Newcastle as both sides look to keep to their winning ways.

Everton won a big game at Nottingham Forest last weekend, with a 1-0 scoreline thanks to Dwight McNeil’s second half goal. They still sit within the relegation zone, but due to their 10-point deduction, they will want to change that soon.

Newcastle don’t have a terrific away record in the league, winning just once on the road from their six away games, losing most recently at Bournemouth against Eddie Howe’s old side. A trip to Goodison, where they won so comfortably last season, is something they can use as a positive, might not be as threatening a prospect as many think it will be. The Toffees have claimed just four points from a possible 21 points on offer at Goodison Park.

Just like in last season’s fixture, we think both teams will get on the scoresheet in this encounter.

Feyenoord vs Volendam – Feyenoord to Win to Nil

Feyenoord welcome Volendam in the Eredivisie, with Feyenoord in 2nd and Volendam currently second bottom.

Feyenoord lost against PSV last weekend as they continued their winning run, but with the hosts conceding the third least goals, they should be in a better position to beat struggling Volendam, who have conceded 36 goals in 14 games.

The visitors have the worst away record in the division after seven games played, with one point from a possible 21 points. They should continue to struggle against a Feyenoord team keen to continue their chase of leaders PSV Eindhoven.

Tottenham vs West Ham – Tottenham to Score First

The final game of this treble sees Tottenham host West Ham for a London derby.

Tottenham have scored first in their last eight games, despite failing to win any of their last four games and are renowned for being fast starters. Against Manchester City, they opened the scoring after six minutes. It took them just three minutes to score against Wolves and just another six minutes against Chelsea. The same attitude will be considered at home to West Ham, and we could see a similar fast start once again.

West Ham have struggled away at the bigger teams this season, losing by more than two goals at both Anfield and Villa Park. Trips to Fulham and Arsenal on the horizon do not give much of an easy let-up for the Hammers, and they will still need to be at their best against a depleted Spurs team.

Tottenham showed us on Sunday “to dare is to do,” and they dare to let their European ambitions fall through their fingers. A fast start against West Ham is needed to get the fans on side on Thursday, so we will back Spurs to score first against the Hammers.
