Empoli are currently experiencing a downturn, but the poor performance of teams around them has so far prevented them from slipping into the league's relegation zone.

Although Aurelio Andreazzoli took over from Paolo Zanetti in September and led the team to impressive victories against Fiorentina and struggling Napoli, Empoli's overall performance has been inconsistent.

Rayo Vallecano vs Celta Vigo - Rayo Vallecano

Celta Vigo's quest for their second La Liga win of the 2023-24 season continues as they prepare to face Rayo Vallecano on Monday evening.

Struggling this season, the visitors have only managed to gather nine points from their initial 15 matches, placing them in the 18th position on the table. In contrast, Rayo Vallecano stands at 11th with 19 points, having won four, drawn seven, and lost four out of their 15 league games. They are tied in points with 10th-placed Valencia.

In their recent league outing, Francisco's team faced a 4-0 defeat against Athletic Bilbao, extending their winless streak to five games in Spain's top flight. Since mid-September, they have only secured one La Liga victory, indicating a decline in their form from the beginning of the season.

Celta Vigo, on the other hand, clinched a Copa del Rey victory on Thursday, advancing to the third round with a 2-1 win over Sestao River. In La Liga, they have drawn their last two matches against Valencia and Cadiz. With a total of nine points from 15 matches, they currently occupy the 18th position in the league standings.

Portsmouth vs Bolton – Bolton

Supporters of Portsmouth and Bolton will converge at Fratton Park in large numbers for the eagerly anticipated League One Clash of which marks the last leg of out Monday Treble.

Portsmouth, currently in top spot, will host second-placed Bolton Wanderers on the South Coast. John Mousinho's squad holds a three-point lead in the race for the League One crown, but Bolton hav a superior goal difference and a crucial game in hand.

Despite the disappointment of their recent FA Cup elimination by Chesterfield, Portsmouth have rebounded with consecutive League victories. Following a brief plateau after the cup exit, they secured a 2-0 win at Burton Albion in November and then triumphed 3-0 on Northampton Town's turf last weekend, courtesy of goals from Sean Raggett and two from Paddy Lane.

Bolton are the only team capable of catching up with Portsmouth in the current round of fixtures. The hosts, however, have an extra motivation to extend their lead on Monday, as they have struggled to impress their home crowd in recent weeks.

Despite going winless in their last two League One matches at Fratton Park, drawing 2-2 with Charlton Athletic and suffering a 4-0 defeat to Blackpool in November, Portsmouth has not lost back-to-back home league matches since January 2022.

We expect this one to be tight but are backing Bolton to take the three points in what is set to be a closely fought fixture.
