Leicester's victorious streak was disrupted by a last-minute equalizer from Ipswich Town on Boxing Day, while Cardiff settled for a draw against managerless Plymouth Argyle.

In December, Leicester City dominated West Bromwich Albion, Plymouth, Millwall, Birmingham, and Rotherham United. However, at Portman Road on Boxing Day, they faced a worthy opponent in Kieran McKenna's Tractor Boys, resulting in a draw that halted Leicester's five-game winning streak.

It's no secret that Foxes winger Stephy Mavididi prefers to cut in from the left and unleash a shot into the bottom-right corner. Despite this predictable move, second-tier defenses have struggled to thwart the 25-year-old, as he notched his eighth goal of the season with a trademark finish past Vaclav Hladky in the last match.

Although the winning streak was halted in East Anglia, Leicester City's unbeaten run remains alive and well at eight matches as they head into the Friday night clash in South Wales.

West Brom vs Leeds – Leeds 

In a clash between fourth and fifth place, Leeds travel to the Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion, marking the conclusion of their Championship fixtures in 2023. 

The Baggies secured a narrow victory over Norwich City in the Black Country on Boxing Day, while Leeds suffered setbacks in the top-two race with an eventful defeat at Preston North End.

Despite the optimism stemming from their impressive 4-0 win against second-placed Ipswich Town on December 23, Leeds United faced an unexpected challenge at Deepdale. The Whites, who have won just one of their last four Championship matches, found themselves on the wrong end of a result. Alan Browne opened the scoring for Preston, but Leeds managed to level through Pascal Struijk's penalty.

However, Liam Millar's sensational right-footed curler in the closing stages secured all three points for North End.With Russell Martin's Southampton securing a convincing win against a managerless Swansea City on the same day, Leeds slipped to fourth place in the second-tier standings. They now trail Ipswich by eight points heading into the final round of Championship fixtures in 2023.

Leeds' last visit to The Hawthorns occurred in December 2020 for a Premier League clash, where Marco Bielsa's side triumphed over Sam Allardyce's Baggies with a 5-0 victory.

Despite West Brom controlling Norwich with a defensive approach on Boxing Day, Leeds presents a different challenge, and there is an anticipation that Leeds will secure three points in this encounter.
