Mark O’Haire has picked out a Scottish Cup upset on Saturday for this weekend’s long shot bet for oddschecker.
15:00 Saturday
This is the latest in a series of long shot bets from football tipster Mark O’Haire, who will be picking out his favourite selection for the weekend at odds of around 5/1 (6.0) or greater. This selection was 11/2 last night but remains a great value bet at 9/2 on Sky Bet.

Saturday Football Tips from Mark O’Haire
Partick -1 vs Livingston at 9/2 (5.50) with Sky Bet
Scottish Championship side Partick entertain top-flight Livingston in Saturday afternoon’s Scottish Cup action and I’m keen to support the home side here. The Jags have already dispatched Premiership outfit Ross County 3-0 on their travels and should be well capable of repeating the feat against a Livi side that’s seriously struggling.
Livingston sit rock-bottom of the Premiership having collected only three league points from 17 top-tier tussles (W0-D3-L14) since October’s international break. The Lions have failed to even score in 11 of those league fixtures and on Wednesday night suffered a heartbreaking late loss away at Kilmarnock to leave the crisis club six points from safety.
Amidst the disastrous run of results, Livingston did enjoy a brief respite in the Scottish Cup. The West Lothian club came from behind to beat second-tier Raith 2-1 in the previous round, however Livi were far from convincing during that rare success; Raith won the shot battle, enjoyed more on-target attempts and dominated the corner count that day.
Considering Partick are just one place below Raith in the Championship standings, plus the fact Thistle arrive here well rested following a free midweek, there’s real scope for a ‘cupset’. The hosts were emphatic in their performance when seeing off Ross County last month and have tended to be lively operators at their Firhill base this season.
The market has already moved heavily in Partick’s favour this midweek with Kris Doolan’s side attracting plenty of interest at big prices. However, there’s still some eye-catching odds on offer for those keen to support the Championship club on Saturday, including backing Partick to overcome a -1 handicap hurdle at 9/2 with Sky Bet (5.50).
The hosts comfortably covered this mark away against Premiership opposition in January and have proven prolific in front of their home supporters, striking twice or more in eight of 11 such Championship outings. In contrast, Livingston arrive having scored just three goals in their past eight away Premiership encounters, all of which have ended in defeat.
