Juventus vs Udinese – Juventus win to nil

The first game of our Monday treble comes in Turin, as Juventus welcome Udinese.

The Old Lady site seven points behind Inter Milan after their defeat to the Nerazzurri in the previous matchday, which would’ve cut the gap to a point. Their 53 points is still 14 clear of Atalanta in fourth, so we can expect them to maintain their Champions League position.

As for the visitors, Udinese sit just one point above the drop zone and risk relegation. They have won just twice all season, but have drawn the most games in the division, with 13 draws this season. They haven’t won in their last five games and haven’t scored in their last two.

With that in mind, Juventus should keep a clean sheet as they play catch up to league leaders Inter, so we’ll back a Juventus win to nil in the first leg.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea – Chelsea win

Under pressure Roy Hodgson puts his Palace side against Chelsea, coming off the back of an impressive display in their FA Cup 4th Round replay against Aston Villa.

To make the tough task of ending their 12 consecutive league defeats against the Blues even harder, they will be without key players Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi, which is a bitter blow for the Eagles.

Chelsea’s injury list is still relatively large but after an impressive win over Aston Villa in midweek, Mauricio Pochettino was allowed a much-awaited sigh of relief following back to back defeats against Liverpool and Wolves. The Blues could fall further behind the pace in the race for European spots and will want to bring those impressive cup performances into the league.

As aforementioned, Chelsea have won their last 12 league matches against Crystal Palace and should be making it 13 in a row here. Chelsea to win seems like the obvious play.

Almeria vs Athletic Bilbao – Athletic Bilbao win

Our final leg takes us to Spain, as Almeria host Athletic Bilbao.

It’s winless Almeria who are all but preparing for life in the Segunda Division, as they sit 14 points off safety. Their zero wins all season is an impressively bad feat and it has been a season to forget.

Bilbao sit in 5th place, just three points of Atletico Madrid in 4th. They should be going to Almeria and winning. They did draw 0-0 to fellow strugglers Cadiz on their last travels, but Almeria have been exceptionally leaky at the back.

It was the Basque side that won the reverse fixture, a comfortable 3-0 win at home. We think they’ll win again here to rub salt in the wounds for Almeria and finish off this Monday treble.
