Bournemouth vs Leicester – Over 2.5 Goals

Bournemouth welcome Championship leaders Leicester to the Vitality Stadium in the first leg of this Tuesday treble.

The Cherries suffered defeat to Man City here on the weekend and haven’t win since their 5-0 win over Swansea in the 4th Round, drawing three and losing two of their last five games in the league.

It’s a similar story for Leicester as well recently, as they come into this having suffered back-to-back defeats to Middlesbrough and Leeds in the Championship.

Whilst they are playing a team in the division above them, it’s likely they’ll be taking part in the Premier League next season, so this could be a first chance to show what they’re made of to the top tier.

Whilst we don’t know which way it’ll go, we do think there will be goals. Bournemouth have scored eight so far in this cup run whilst Leicester have scored six times. Over 2.5 goals is what we think will happen in the game.

Blackburn vs Newcastle – Newcastle & Both Teams to Score

The second FA Cup tie of the treble sees Newcastle travel to Blackburn.

The hosts picked up a good point against Norwich on the weekend, but that also marked a fourth game without a win. Rovers sit 16th in the Championship and are looking over their shoulder at the teams behind them than ahead of them, as they are just four points above the relegation zone.

As for Newcastle, they were beat 4-1 by Arsenal on the weekend which has exacerbated their injury crisis. They have started to get the numbers back in the team, with Joe Willock returning to the side to net a consolation goal in that defeat at the Emirates.

Newcastle are yet to concede in the FA Cup so far, whilst Blackburn have won both of their home ties in the cup by three goals (5-2 vs Cambridge and 4-1 vs Wrexham). The Magpies will have the quality to win, but we think both teams will score here.

Luton vs Man City – Man City Win to Nil

FA Cup holders Man City wrap up this treble as they travel to Luton.

The Hatters have now suffered three consecutive defeats in the league, despite two of those coming against big boys Manchester United and Liverpool. A shock win against the holders could spark their season back into life after a positive start to 2024.

Man City have conceded just a single goal since the start of last season’s campaign in the FA Cup, coming in the final from the penalty spot against Manchester United. Having kept two clean sheets against Huddersfield and Tottenham, the same could be happening again.

Luton proved relatively hard work for them at Kenilworth Road in the first meeting between the two sides, but City are starting to click, as they haven’t lost since their win at Kenilworth Road. They have also kept back-to-back clean sheets in their last two and have conceded just twice in their last five in all competitions.

We think that City will keep a clean sheet and win here to progress to the quarter-finals of the cup.
