They managed more shots than their promotion-chasing opponents and showed great spirit to come from behind to earn a point. Balckburn’s focus in the league is avoiding relegation with just a four-point cushion between themselves and the bottom three. 

Rovers have overcome opponents who play in leagues below the Championship to reach this stage of the FA Cup. They will need to find another gear to beat Newcastle on Tuesday night. 

Newcastle have been ravaged by injuries in recent weeks and it has been a factor in them slumping to 10th in the Premier League. They were in the firing line as they squared off against a rampant Arsenal side at the weekend. Eddie Howe’s side managed to get on the scoresheet but were beaten 4-1.

Despite the setbacks, this season can still be a memorable one for Newcastle. The supporters have been starved of success since their last major trophy win in 1955.
