Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool – Liverpool

Nottingham Forest host Liverpool in the first leg of this weekend’s FavFour.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have suffered back-to-back defeats in all competitions, with defeats at Aston Villa and to Manchester United in the FA Cup 5th Round. The win over West Ham was their first win in the league this year and with potential impending financial charges inbound, they’ll want to pick up some more points to avoid being dragged into the relegation mix.

Liverpool have been flying in recent weeks despite being plagued by injuries. They won the League Cup last weekend and saw off Southampton in the FA Cup, with Jayden Danns netting a brace off the bench. Jurgen Klopp could repay his faith in Danns and start him at the City Ground.

Last season, Liverpool lost 1-0 at the City Ground and will want to make things right against a relegation contender. We think the Reds continue their great form and win here.

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace – Tottenham

Oliver Glasner takes charge of his first away game at Crystal Palace as they travel up to North London to play Tottenham.

Ange Postecoglou’s side haven’t played since the 2-1 defeat to Wolves on Feb 17th as their trip to Stamford Bridge was postponed following the Blue’s taking part in the Carabao Cup Final. They will be fresh and keen to bounce back from that defeat. They are without full-back Pedro Porro but Destiny Udogie could feature.

Palace kept a clean sheet and recorded a 3-0 win over Burnley in a relatively easy start for Glasner, and they will be confident as they travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Under Hodgson, they lost the first meeting between the two sides in October. Crystal Palace haven’t beat Tottenham since their 3-0 win in September 2021 and could provide a shock under Glasner.

However, Tottenham really should be winning this given the big rest period, and they can close the gap on Aston Villa in 4th with a win.

Brentford vs Chelsea – Chelsea

League Cup runners-up Chelsea travel to Brentford in the third leg of this Saturday FavFour.

Brentford are unbeaten against the Blues in their last four games in all competitions, but they also haven’t beaten Chelsea at home in their last four meetings. The Bees also suffered a big defeat to West Ham on Monday, losing 4-2 at the London Stadium. That makes it just the one win in their last six games.

Chelsea bounced back from defeat in the League Cup to win against Leeds in the FA Cup on Wednesday and would like to continue what was previously a good run since their last league defeat against Wolves. The jury is still out for them and manager Mauricio Pochettino, and they will want to pick up as many points as possible, with three at Brentford being the expectation.

We think Chelsea will win here, but Brentford won’t necessarily make it an easy result, with points to prove for both sides.

Fulham vs Brighton – Fulham

Our final leg sees Marco Silva’s Fulham take on Brighton, with the home side fresh from their big win at Old Trafford.

Surprisingly, Brighton haven’t beat Fulham in the seven meetings they have had in the top flight, with three Fulham wins and four draws. It was another draw in October and Fulham will be confident they can continue their unbeaten run against the Seagulls, following their win over Manchester United.

Brighton snatched an equalizer in their game against Everton but were dumped out of the cup by Wolves on Wednesday. There are inconsistencies within the Brighton side, failing to record consecutive wins in the league since September. Beating a team they’ve never beat in the league in Fulham will not be an easy task.

We think the Cottagers will pick up another win here in front of their own fans to finish off this FavFour.
