Luton vs Aston Villa Stats
- Luton’s league matches in 2024 have seen an average of 4.33 goals.

- Unai Emery’s side won 3-1 when they played Luton earlier this season.
Luton vs Aston Villa Prediction
Luton’s task of staying in the Premier League got a lot harder when Everton had their points deduction reduced on appeal. Rob Edwards’ side are four points behind Nottingham Forest and five behind Everton and Brentford as things stand.
The Hatters will be reasonably happy with how they’ve played this season. A relegation battle was expected and they have outperformed both Burnley and Sheffield United, who finished above them in the Championship in the last campaign.
Rob Edwards’ side were put to the sword by Manchester City midweek. Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne were at their brilliant best as Pep’s side scored six but Luton did manage to score twice against the reigning champions of Europe.
Aston Villa have continued their development under Unai Emery this season. They look set to have a positive finish to the season with the side still competing for silverware in the form of the Europa Conference League. They also have their sights on returning to the Champions League for the first time since the 1982/83 season, when they were the reigning kings of Europe.
The Villains beat Nottingham Forest 4-2 in their last match. Their last away game was a 2-1 win over Fulham but their results on the road have been a mixed bag this season. They have won six of their 13 away Premier League games, losing four in the process.
Unai Emery’s defence has looked shaky in recent weeks. His team like to play with an extremely high defensive line and the opposition have been able to exploit the space in behind. They have conceded two goals or more in six of their eight Premier League matches since Christmas.
Luton have picked up just three league wins at Kenilworth Road this season. However, they have been a test for every side, losing just one of their matches by a margin greater than a single goal so they should be competitive against Villa. Therefore, I’m backing both teams to score and over 2.5 goals in the match with Bet 365.
Edwards’ men have scored in 12 of their 13 Premier League home matches, the exception was the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham. They have scored five goals across their matches at Kenilworth Road against Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal. Those sides, along with Villa, currently make up the top four. Luton’s home matches have seen an average of 31.5 goals.
Aston Villa’s away matches have also seen an average of 3.15 goals per game. This bet has landed in four of their last five league matches with Sheffield United being the only side who have failed to score against Emery’s men over that period.
Tip: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals In The Match @ 8/11 Bet365 (1 point)
