Despite running green on debut DAMBUSTER was still good enough to get up late and make a winning debut at Sandown. Things didn’t work out in the Zetland but that was a tough ask on just his second start and he is still a horse with tons of potential. He has been gelded over the winter and I’m hopeful of him making a winning return here. Open Secret has also had just the two starts but does have fitness on side after going down a length at Wolverhampton last time so looks the danger. Spirit Of Acklam is another one capable of better so could also run well.

I think as long as the quick turnaround doesn’t catch HIDALGO DES BORDES out then he is the most likely winner of this. He made a winning start over fences on handicap debut at Exeter just 6 days ago and will be hard to beat carrying a penalty. He caught the eye with how well he travelled and he did it very easily coming some 11 lengths clear at the finish. The one to give him most to think about could be Barest Of Margins who was a good third at Taunton last time back from a lengthy layoff. He will strip fitter and if improving looks the biggest danger.
