Both Teams to Score - No

As well as a 0-0 against Liechtenstein in their last game, Romania were held in the game before that, drawing 0-0 with Bulgaria. Although 12 shots on target against Liechtenstein perhaps showed a lack of fortune to finish off their chances, they managed just three shots on target against Bulgaria.

In qualifying, despite topping their group, they scored just 16 goals in those matches and are far from prolific. Although the Ukraine lost out 3-1 to Poland in their 2nd of the 3 warm up games, they also held Germany to a 0-0 draw and kept a clean sheet against Moldova.

They also kept the door closed on Italy in a 0-0 in qualifying which suggests their defensive structure can cope with what Romania are likely to throw at them.

Georgiy Sudakov Over 0.5 Assists

The Ukrainian Premier League’s player of the season is a creative force for the national side and will be key to breaking down Romania’s defences. He created 14 key chances for the national side in their qualifying campaign, the highest amongst the squad and racked up two assists in his last game out against Moldova.

Considering the Ukraine was in one of the toughest qualifying groups and the situation we alluded to in their campaign, this was a stellar set of performances.

Romania are considered one of the weakest teams in the tournament and Sudakov has quality ahead of time in Dovbyk, the La Liga top scorer and experienced heads in Yarmolenko, Yaremchuk and Tsygankov to finish off from his supply line.

Artem Dovbyk Over 1.5 Shots

Ukraine follows in the footsteps of legends like Andriy Shevchenko by scoring goals for fun in a top level league. He was the top scorer in Spain’s La Liga this season, with his 24 goals crucial to Girona’s historic 3rd place finish.

Although he’s been quiet in the recent set of friendlies, one could make the argument that he is conserving himself for the tournament itself. He averages 1.62 shots per game for Ukraine since the 2020/21 season and faces a Romania side who have conceded an average of 13 shots per game in the same time period.

In a cluster of four games earlier last season, Romania conceded 18,17,18 and 21 shots, suggesting that when they have an off night, they really have an off night.
