Below you can find the reasoning behind each part of the bet from Macca.

Camavinga Over 1.5 Fouls

The 21-year-old central midfielder has been a key player in Real Madrid’s dominant campaign this season and aims to secure his place in Didier Deschamps' golden era French side.

Versatile in midfield or at left-back, Camavinga has averaged 4.17 fouls per 90 minutes and 2.29 fouls per game in his last five games for the French squad. In his full 90 minutes against Canada, he committed five fouls and received a booking.

He’s odds against to commit more than one foul against Austria. With them looking to play on the counter, Camavinga should be the player to thwart a dangerous attack. Especially since France are missing Tchouaméni, who continues to recover from a foot injury.

Griezmann Over 1.5 Shots

Euro 2016 golden boot winner Antoine Griezmann shows no signs of slowing down at 33 years old. Over the last two seasons at Atletico Madrid, he has scored 31 goals, averaging 3.02 shots per 90 minutes. As the vice-captain of the French side, playing just behind the striker, Griezmann remains a pivotal player for the nation.

In France’s last 10 matches, he has averaged 2.13 shots per game, surpassing the 1.5 shots mark in 75% of his games. With Austria likely to sit deep and nullify the front three, Griezmann’s tendency to take shots from distance bodes well for this bet.

Half-Time Draw

Despite France’s talent, Austria is not a team to underestimate. They have been revitalised under the ex-Manchester United caretaker manager.

Austria are known for their high press and will aim to not give France much time on the ball. Without David Alaba, they will rely on the experience of Leipzig’s Schlager to break up play in the middle.

Analysis of recent matches where Austria’s opponents had similar odds (4/6) to beat them in 90 minutes shows that, in six such games since 2021, four were 0-0 draws at half-time. These opponents included France, Denmark, Italy, and England.
