Below you can find Grant's reasoning behind each part of the bet.

Belgium to Win

Despite not being quite at the level of some of their previous sides heading into Euro 2024, Belgium are expected to take top honours in Group E.

The Red Devils may be moving on from their golden generation, but they still carry a potent attacking threat in the final-third and that should be enough to put Slovakia to the sword.

The Belgians have avoided defeat in each of their 14 outings since the 2022 World Cup, triumphing in a sizeable 10 of those matches. While Slovakia are likely to put up some stiff resistance, Belgium’s superior class in forward areas should tell.

Romelu Lukaku To Score Anytime

Among the players at the head of the Euro 2024 Golden Boot market, Romelu Lukaku will look to open his account against Slovakia on Monday.

The bustling centre-forward was in blistering form during qualifying, banging in a record-breaking 14 goals across his eight appearances.

That remarkable goal return further cemented Lukaku’s position as his country’s all-time leading goalscorer, making him an obvious candidate to strike against Slovakia.

The Falcons failed to keep a clean sheet in five of their 10 qualifying matches, which doesn’t bode well ahead of this tussle with Domenico Tedesco’s top-heavy team.

Kevin De Bruyne Over 0.5 Assists

Pulling the strings in the middle of the park for Belgium will be midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne.

Most of Belgium’s attack goes through De Bruyne, who has a habit of producing moments of game-changing magic.

De Bruyne has racked up a whopping 49 assists in 101 appearances for his country, not to mention the Man City ace also sits second in the Premier League’s all-time assists list.

De Bruyne’s ability to unlock defences will be key for Belgium this summer and he looks worth siding with for an assist against Slovakia.

Jeremy Doku Over 0.5 Shots on Target

As well as the aforementioned Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne, Slovakia’s defence will also have to keep close tabs on Jeremy Doku.

The Man City winger has registered an impressive 11 goal involvements across his 22 appearances for his country.

Doku likes to cut in from the left-wing and gets shots away, as evidenced by the fact that he hit the target in seven of his final eight Premier League appearances of the season.

With that in mind, back the Belgian livewire to trouble Martin Dubravka at least once on Monday evening.
