Steve Ryder is back with three tip's from today's horse racing action.
14:30 Royal Ascot
Wesley Ward has a good record in the Queen Mary Stakes with four wins in the race and unlike other years we are getting a good price around his runner ULTIMA GRACE (best priced at 12/1). The daughter of American Pharoah showed lots of early speed over 4 ½ furlongs at Keeneland on her debut where she was hassled by her main rival early on in the contest. Easing clear in the straight, her main rival faded to finish last whereas Ultima Grace stayed on well to win by 3 ¾ lengths under minimal effort from the saddle.
Joel Rosario is expected to try to make all from Stall 17 and she looks worth backing win only with the good to firm ground in her favour.

Dark Dreamer was a disappointing favourite last time so it looks a good opportunity for TEN COMMITMENTS (best priced at 2/1) to get off the mark at the fifth attempt. The Jamie Osbourne trained three-year-old ran with credit on his first three starts before finishing a neck 2nd on his handicap debut at Salisbury last time.
The handicapper has raised Ten Commitments for that run but he instead gets to run here off his previous mark and he can hopefully get a lot kinder run through the race. He was slowly away and had to wait for room to make his challenge before running on strongly at the finish under William Carver. He retains the ride and can hopefully go one better in this race.

George Boughey, Pat Cosgrave and owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede had a similar handicap winner on Saturday with the well backed Lennon and hopefully FORTNUM (best priced at 6/4) can do the same. The handicapper refused to give the three-year-old a handicap mark following three runs in maiden/ novice races so connections ran him once again over a mile where he finished last of 8 at Brighton last time a month ago.
Now making his handicap debut off an opening mark of 60, Fortnum looks sure to relish this step up in trip to 1m2f for the first time and he should prove hard to beat in this weak 0-58 contest.
