Spain To Win

Spain built on their convincing 3-0 win over Croatia in their first game of the group stage by beating Italy in their last match. Luis De La Fuente’s side put on a marvellous display and should have beat the reigning champions by a wider margin. They racked up a total of 20 shots in comparison to Italy’s four.

Their superior goal difference should be enough to earn them top spot in Group B but they will want to carry momentum into the knockout stages. 

Under De La Fuente, Spain have lost just two of their 16 matches. Over that period, they have scored an average of 2.75 goals per game and conceded just 0.69. Their possession-hungry style is coupled with direct dribbling in wide areas and it is working to devastating effect. 

Albania salvaged a draw with a 95th minute goal against Croatia but this clash with Spain looks a step too far. They have won just two of their last eight matches. They lost 3-0 the last time they faced Spain in a competitive fixture. 

Under 8.5 Corners

Spain and Albania matches at Euro 2024 have seen an average of six corners per game. Only England and Croatia games have seen fewer so under 8.5 corners looks a solid bet here.  This bet has won in all four of the matches involving these sides at this tournament so far. 

There will be no real urgency for Spain to get the ball forward with 1st place in the group firmly in their grasp. A draw would guarantee them that spot and it would take an extraordinary set of results for that position to change. 

These sides last went head-to-head in a friendly in March 2022, there were just five corners in that game. 

Ylber Ramadani To Make 2+ Fouls

Spain have forced an average of 13.5 fouls per game at Euro 2024 so far. England and France are the only sides that have been fouled more frequently.  This is largely due to the pace they possess with the likes on Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal in their ranks. De La Fuente could opt to field the likes of Dani Olmo and Mikel Oyarzabal in this game but they are all capable of forcing fouls.

Right centre-midfielders have been busy against Spain. Overlapping runs from Marc Cucurella, who is enjoying a fantastic tournament, have given the opposition a torrid time. Davide Frattesi started in that position for Italy in Spain’s last game and made two fouls in his 45 minutes of action. Andrea Cambiaso took on that role in the second half and made a foul. Luke Modric played there against Spain for Croatia and made two fouls before being substituted at the 65th-minute mark. He was replaced by Mario Pasalic, who made an additional foul.

Ylber Ramadani should start at right centre-midfield for Albania. He committed an average of 1.3 fouls per 90 minutes in Serie A last season. Ramadani has made just one foul so far this tournament but he is primed to make them in this are of the field against Spain.
