Xhaka to be Carded

Granit Xhaka, now enjoying success in the Bundesliga after leaving Arsenal, continues to be a key figure in Switzerland's midfield.

Under Xabi Alonso, Xhaka has been deployed slightly further forward but retains his combative nature, making him a prime candidate for bookings.

Last season, he accumulated five yellow cards in the Bundesliga and received another in Switzerland's group stage match.

Additionally, he was booked in a pre-tournament friendly against Austria. Xhaka committed four fouls against Germany and remains the second best for fouls committed in the Switzerland team.

As mentioned before, Xhaka has adapted well to his more advanced role under Xabi Alonso in the Bundesliga, showcasing his ability to contribute offensively. He’s managed a shot on target in all of Switzerland’s 3 group stage games, impressive considering Germany were one of the opponents. 

With Italy set to miss the suspended Riccardo Calafiori, Switzerland might find opportunities to exploit defensive weaknesses. Xhaka's willingness to push forward and test the goalkeeper could be pivotal and he’s great odds to do so.
