Cody Gakpo To Have A Shot on Target

Gakpo has had a shot on target in all but one of his starts for the Netherlands since November 2022. That gives him 15 shots on target in just 14 starts.

His average has actually increased at Euro 2024, where he has been the Netherlands’ key attacking threat, with eight shots on target in five matches so far.

His 12 shots on target across qualifying and Euro 2024 proper is the joint highest for his country (alongside Weghorst), so expect him to be involved with a lot of the Netherlands’ attacks.

Declan Rice To Have A Shot

Whilst occupying a deeper role for England, Declan Rice has managed in four of his five appearances at this tournament, including the nail-biter against Switzerland.

A lot of focus might be on England’s attacking quartet of Foden, Saka, Bellingham and Kane, but, particularly with Mainoo also anchoring the midfield, expect Rice to have a bit more freedom to get up the pitch during England’s dominant spells: in fact, the only match where Rice did not manage a shot on target was against Serbia, where he partnered with Trent Alexander-Arnold in midfield.

Since the start of the 23/24 season, Rice has had 70 shots in 59 starts. That makes this very well priced for me.

Memphis Depay To Commit A Foul

Depay has averaged 1.55 fouls per 90 across qualifying and Euro 2024, and, based on each team’s last 10 matches in all competitions, England are the most fouled team left in the competition, drawing an average of 14.5 fouls per match.

Of the players predicted to start tomorrow, according to WhoScored, only Dumfries, van Dijk and Xavi Simons have committed more fouls across the Netherlands’ last 13 competitive matches.

Over 7.5 Match Corners

England tend to dominate corners in their matches, averaging 5.9 corners for, and just 1.9 corners against in their last 10 matches.

However, the Netherlands are also certainly capable of racking up a few, averaging 5.3 for and 3.6 against in the same period.

Seven of the Netherlands’ last 10 matches have had seven or more corners, including all but one of their matches at this tournament.
