Euro 2024 Player of the Tournament
Since the award's inception in 1996, five of the six winners of this award have played for the team that went on to lift the trophy.
The exception was Antoine Griezmann, who was Player of the Tournament when France lost the final of Euro 2016 against Portugal.
So unsurprisingly, Spain and England players make up the top 18 in the betting ahead of their showdown in Berlin.

Euro 2024 Player of the Tournament Tips
Dani Olmo
Dani Olmo is in the driving seat for the Golden Boot but he finds himself behind Lamine Yamal in the betting for best player. Olmo has three goals and two assists but wasn’t a regular starter coming into the tournament.
Olmo made his first start against Albania when Spain had already secured first place in the group. After that, he was on the bench for the clashes with Georgia and Germany but an injury to Pedri against the hosts meant that Olmo played from the 8th minute on.
The RB Leipzig man has made a massive contribution for Spain but starting just two of their matches could have a detrimental impact on him being named the tournament’s best player.
Jude Bellingham
Like many of England’s big names, Jude Bellingham has faced criticism for his performances at this tournament. There were some calling for him to be dropped following his relatively poor showing in the groups but he came up trumps in the round of 16. Jude scored a fantastic overhead kick to keep England in the tournament and another decisive moment in the final could see him beat his rivals to the award.
Bellingham, despite facing criticism from the English media and fans alike, has picked up two Player of the Match awards at this tournament. Only three other players have accomplished that feat and none of them will play a part in Sunday’s final.
The Real Madrid man scored 19 goals in his first season in La Liga and could come up with the winning goal against Spain. Doing just that could well be enough for him to be crowned the Player of the Tournament.
Lamine Yamal
Lamine Yamal is the current favourite to win Player of the Tournament. The 16-year-old, who will be 17 when the final kicks off, has taken the European Championships by storm. He will become the youngest-ever player to feature in the final of a World Cup or Euros, surpassing Pele.
Yamal came through Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy. He made his La Liga debut at the age of 15 and since then he has experienced a meteoric rise. Lamine likes to cut in from the right with his favoured left foot. His incredible pace and sublime dribbling ability mean he is always capable of producing a bit of genius that decides the match.
The Barcelona wonderkid is the favourite coming into the final and it’s easy to see why. His wonder goal in the last round got Spain back into the game after falling behind early on but his game is so much more than chipping in with a goal. Yamal has also got three assists to his name at this tournament. He set up
Dani Olmo’s goal against Germany and had further assists against Georgia and Croatia. No Spanish player has ever provided four assists at a European Championships so he can break that record against England.
Lamine also passes the eye test. Spain’s wingers have been the key in this tournament and another tremendous display from the youngster would likely be enough to see him clinch the Player of the Tournament award.
