The annual curtain-raiser of the season is upon us as the Premier League champions Man City take on the FA Cup winners Man United at Wembley battling it out for the 102nd Community Shield.

Man City vs Man United Prediction

The Premier League's curtain raiser kicks off on Saturday afternoon as Manchester City and Manchester United look to lift the 2024 Community Shield.

City have lost their last three Community Shield games, falling to Leicester, Liverpool and Arsenal in that run, and will be keen to make amends this weekend.

Rivals United, though, denied City a domestic double as they upset the odds to beat Pep Guardiola's side in the FA Cup final back in May.

While City have struggled in this fixture in recent seasons, they may come out on top in this one.

Score Prediction: Man City 2-1 Man United

Amad Diallo Over 0.5 Shots on Target

Amad Diallo has been one of United's stand out players in pre season and has built on his impressive finish to last season with two goals in pre-season.

With Garnacho's fitness a doubt having just returned to training, ten Hag is likely to give Diallo more of a prominant role in this fixture.

Diego Dalot Over 1.5 Fouls

United's right back will likely face either Grealish or Doku two players who frequently draw fouls.

Grealish averged 2.1 times fouled in the Premier League last season, the highest in the Man City side and Doku averaged 1.1.

Doku was also fouled eight times in four games in the Euro's and knows how to draw a foul.

Dalot averaged the most fouls on the United side last season with 1.3 and committed two fouls the last time these two sides met in the FA Cup final 11 weeks ago and the last time they met in the Premier League.

Both Teams to Score

Both these sides were involved in numerous high scoring games during the pre-season and although both managers will likely play somewhat conservatively so as to avoid any injuries before the season, I think goals can be expected.

Both teams scored when they met in the FA Cup final 11 weeks ago and both sides will be keen to deal the first blow to their rivals in order to set the tone for the season.
