Macca picks out his favourite bet builder selection for Ipswich vs Liverpool this weekend.
Salah Over 3.5 Shots
It’ll be no surprise to see Luton set up defensively here and that will play into the hands of Salah who loves to take a shot from range. In his last 8 starts he’s achieved over 3.5 shots in 6 of those games.
His average shots per 90 minutes is 5.61 from his last 13 games or 3.87 over the last year. Either way, the data backs up the selection at these odds and against a team where he should get a lot of the ball.
Over 10.5 Corners & VVD Shot
Liverpool’s last 20 premier league matches have seen an average of 11.45 corners per game whist Ipswich’s are just below that at 10.5. I’m happy to take the over 10 line and pair it with a Virgil Van Dijk shot.
The two events are correlated which gives us our edge here. If there’s a lot of corners in the game, we can expect Liverpool to have the bulk of those and Virgil Van Dijk should be the target man. He averaged 1.26 shots per game last season which is the highest amount of shots vs any centre back in the big 5 leagues.
An impressive stat and one which I’m sure will continue this season.
