Sheffield Wednesday followed up their impressive win on the opening day of the season by being hammered by Sunderland last weekend. Danny Rohl’s side struggled to create anything significant and are looking to bounce back here. Like last season, Leeds have made a slow start. They have drawn their opening two matches and another draw is a possibility here.

Coventry lost their opening league game against Stoke but got points on the board by beating Oxford United last weekend. They face a Bristol City side that they knocked out of the EFL Cup just over a week ago. The Robins have been tough to beat at Ashton Gate in the league. They are unbeaten in their last six and there is very little between the side here.

Hull are still awaiting their first win of the season after drawing against Bristol City and Plymouth. The Tigers beat the Lions 1-0 in this fixture last season and I expect them to triumph here. Millwall’s defence has looked fragile as they’ve conceded seven goal in their first two games in the Championship. They have lost on four of their last five visits to this ground.

Plymouth’s first game of the season was on the road and it can only be described as a calamity. Wayne Rooney watched on as his side lost 4-0 against Sheffield Wednesday. They looked far more solid as they drew 1-1 with Hull last weekend and a similar scoreline could be on the cards here. Marti Cifuentes has lost just six of his 19 league matches in charge at Loftus Road.

Blackburn will be delighted with their start. Their attack has been rampant across their three competitive matches thus far. That should be enough to get them over the line against an Oxford United side that has shown plenty of fight in their first few matches.

Middlesbrough vs Portsmouth
Middlesbrough suffered a disappointing defeat at Derby last weekend, just after they’d beaten Leeds 3-0 at Elland Road in the League Cup. Michael Carrick’s men are looking to return to winning ways when they take on Portsmouth. Pompey have faced two promotion contenders thus far and picked up two points. However, I expect them to falter when they head to the Riverside Stadium.

Sheffield United exited the Premier League with a whimper last season but Chris Wilder has galvanised the troops over the summer and they look capable of fighting it out near the top of the Championship. The Blades are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with Norwich. They won 1-0 the last time they visited Carrow Road. However, Norwich are unbeaten in their last 17 league games in front of their own fans so we are backing the draw.

Preston vs Luton
After being relegated from the top tier of English football, there was very little change at Luton in the summer. Rob Edwards’ side were hammered on their return to the second tier but they should get their first win of the season here. Rob Edwards’ side created plenty of chances as they drew 0-0 at Fratton Park last weekend despite being a man behind for 60 minutes. Preston, on the other hand, are on a run of seven league matches without a goal.

West Brom’s away form at the back end of last season was a concern bit they start this campaign with an away win at Loftus Road. They managed a draw with Leeds last weekend and their most recent clashes with Stoke suggest we might see a draw once again. Both meetings between these sides ended honours even.

Sunderland are one of only eight teams to not concede a goal in the EFL so far this season. They were hugely impressive as they hammered Sheffield Wednesday 4-0 in their last match but they’ll have a hard time keeping Burnley at bay. The Clarets have scored nine goals in their two league matches. They won 4-2 the last time they came to the Stadium of Light and we should see them emerge victorious once again.

They finished the game with an xG of 2.27 as they beat Stoke 3-0 at Vicarage Road last weekend. We are picking the Hornets to come out on top as they welcome Derby. The Rams lost their only away game so far this campaign 4-2.
