Brighton vs Manchester United

Brighton made a terrific start to life under Fabian Hurzeler last weekend but should face a tougher test when Manchester United arrive at The Amex. The Red Devils were deserved 1-0 winners over Fulham with Lisandro Martinez’s return at centre-half and a leaner Casemiro making significant contributions. Entertainment should be plentiful.

Correct Score: 2-2

Crystal Palace vs West Ham

Both Crystal Palace and West Ham began their new Premier League campaigns with disappointing 2-1 defeats and the capital rivals may be forced to share the spoils at Selhurst Park on Saturday. Oliver Glasner has made a big impact with the Eagles since his arrival, whilst much is expected of the Hammers following an eye-catching summer.

Correct Score: 1-1

15:00 Saturday

Fulham vs Leicester

Fulham have been at their best at Craven Cottage since returning to the top-flight and the Cottagers should see their match-up with Leicester as a great opportunity to get off the mark. The Foxes were fortunate to scrape a point against Tottenham on Monday night, levelling with their first shot on-target after a one-sided clash for the first hour.

Correct Score: 2-0

15:00 Saturday

Manchester City vs Ipswich

Defending champions Manchester City were cushy 2-0 winners at Chelsea in their curtain-raising contest and are understandably strong favourites to put promoted Ipswich away at The Etihad. However, the Tractor Boys do pack a punch and will fancy their chances of at least getting on the scoresheet in a likely defeat.

Correct Score: 4-1

15:00 Saturday

Southampton vs Nottingham Forest

Southampton were unfortunate to finish pointless from a brave and impressive opening show at Newcastle. The Saints dominated the second-half at St James’ Park without reward and will hope to replicate that performance at home against Nottingham Forest; the visitors are traditionally poor Premier League travellers and so a draw stands-out.

Correct Score: 1-1

15:00 Saturday

Tottenham vs Everton

Ange Postecoglou was a frustrated man on Monday night after seeing his Tottenham team fail to take top honours at Leicester. The Spurs boss will be demanding a more clinical effort against Everton, especially after seeing the Toffees fall apart in a 3-0 home reverse to Brighton. The visitors lost seven of eight trips to the top-eight last term.

Correct Score: 2-1

15:00 Saturday

Aston Villa vs Arsenal

Aston Villa overcame both Manchester City and Arsenal at Villa Park last season and so the Gunners will be aware of the threat posed by Unai Emery’s side this weekend. That defeat is one of only seven away losses incurred by the Gunners from their past 38 EPL outings with Mikel Arteta’s men keeping an impressive 21 clean sheets in that sample.

Correct Score: 1-1

14:00 Sunday

Bournemouth vs Newcastle

Bournemouth were the sixth-best team in the EPL over the final 29 games last season and the Cherries opened their account for 2024/25 with a creditable point at Forest. Andoni Iraola’s outfit are capable of pinching at least a point here against a Newcastle side that went W2-D2-L10 on their travels when excluding the bottom-five last term.

Correct Score: 1-1

14:00 Sunday

Wolves vs Chelsea

Wolves may have lost captain Max Kilman and star man Pedro Neto in the summer, yet Gary O’Neil’s men command respect as big-priced outsides against Chelsea. The Old Gold did the double over Chelsea in 2023/24 and the Blues head to the Black Country with more questions than answers over their tactical approach and selection-process.

Correct Score: 1-0

16:30 Sunday

Liverpool vs Brentford

Liverpool were excellent in the second-half of their 2-0 triumph at Ipswich with Arnie Slot already making an impact in the hot-seat. The Reds will now expect to back up that success at Anfield when Brentford arrive on Sunday. The Bees were solid when seeing off Crystal Palace on MD1 but have lost 12 of their last 18 trips to top-six opposition.

Correct Score: 3-1
